For PC players, I found this game to be incredibly unoptimized. You've been warned.

I'm not angry in the slightest. I just wanted to warn potential PC buyers of the games problems so they can make an informed purchase should they decide to do so.

What does anger me though is the 4chanization that is happening to the escapist. Two years ago flame baiting by posting antagonizing statements like "U MAD SON?!" to people who were clearly and calmly behaving as per the board rules would have been banned outright, now i see it happening every day. Can we please stop with the memes and trolling? I beg you all, leave that for the chans.

I remember another Need for Speed Hot pursuit. It was for the ps1, and it was amazing.
So sad that it is now lost.
When I heard about this game, I thought it was like a remake. Not what I expected, but releived that it is not bad.

But still nothing comes close to the 1998 Need For Speed III - Hot Pursuit for PlayStation (the PC version sucks^^). I would have loved if they would make an "Hardcore Remake", keeping EVERYTHING the way it was (menu, music,...) and just add more cars and tracks to the ones that were already there.

Everyone that loved the game as much as me, will drown in nostalgia, when hearing that super-relaxing song, from the vehicle-information menu...
I would love a remake like that.

You are insane. The PC version lets you play as police, where the PSX version didn't. The PC version has a number of additional cars that the PSX version didn't have. The PC version runs at much higher resolutions. IMO, it's the only version worth having.

P.S. Thanks

Plus it was released back in the day when I had a steering wheel for my PC! Those were the times :D

If you think that his or anyone elses behavior is ban worthy mayhaps one needs to press the report button a bit more?

Got it the day it came out :) It is fantastic, nothing beats rolling down the road listening to your own music in the game :)

So...the Need for Speed franchise can just make a "Cops and Racers" game, call it Hot Pursuit something, add some features and nicer graphics and more and modern cars...and call it a day? And everyones praising them for it?
But Developer XYZ cannot make shooter #540.344.777 and gets shunned because it is just another shooter.

When I heard "Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit" is released soon, my first thought was "AGAIN?"
I mean, NfS used new and interesting concepts, illegal street racing was part of it all throughout, but in different scenes. The snobby, stock sports-car "hey lets race" of the old parts, the underground, neon-light glowing tuningheaven of Underground 1+2, and a mix of both in Most Wanted plus added cops, Carbon with the "Tokio Drift" feel and the drift mechanic, and Shift with the professional driver aspect.
Now the run out of ideas and recycle some old idea and it is Okay or what.
I don´t get it.
Oh sure, it is a fun game, it is still as much fun to bust ass as a cop as it was years ago in the others or outrun them, particulary with multiplayer and a couch full of friends, but still...
It´s the Nintendo-Syndrome...

Is it just me or does it look like a bit of a burnout rip off?
Coming from the burnout devs, I think that's a little bit expected.

OT: I'm actually quite intrigued about this game. I have found memories of the ps1 NFS games, and burnout for that matter, so it sounds pretty awesome...

I have been generally unimpressed by all Need For Speed Games thus far, although this Hot Pursuit may be the first one I get. However, I refuse to call it Need For Speed; I'll just call it Burnout: Hot Pursuit.

What I do not understand, is that the video is reviewing a racing game and yet the video does not cover or mention the most important aspect of a racing game which every reviewer of a racing game should cover, the handling mechanics! All that I saw was the bells and whistles of the game. Those are the bonuses and it does not make me buy the racing game. What is the use of having all those bells and whistles, but the handling sucks? Keep this in mind next time a review of a racing game is done.

Take it there is no modification in this game? It also seems to focus mainly on super cars so I suppose that's understandable.

Still I enjoyed Driving my Renault Clio V6 in NFS:MW.

That, and no LAN support. Again.
Plagued with tons of problems for the PC player, and no DLC either.
Criterion, recently announced they don't have the resources to support all platforms, yet didn't mind releasing it on all platforms.

NFSHP is probably the worst game I've purchased as a PC player in the last 10 years.

Just picked this up for the 360. The progression is awful. You only get new races by getting gold on a percentage of the ones you've already unlocked, so if you run into a spot where you've just got supercar time trials that you suck at, no amount of grinding easier races for levels will get you new races.

Personally, I think it's not worth the going rate and I would rather get the old NFS: Hot Pursuit for PC, again. That game was awesome. Outrunning the cops in my Lister Storm...
