Nicely thought out review =)

As with most things in life, especially people's methods of getting their message across, you have to be a little flexible. Bottom line - even if you don't agree with Yahtzee's opinion of a particular game, his reviews still make for great comedy.

Besides the fact that Yahtzee criticizes games for humor, he is obviously a videogame nitpicker. Even the games in his "BEST GAMES EVAR" list have flaws (i.e. Sands of Time) that he readily points out.

Yahtzee has talked about this at length for some time. The uncanny valley effect applies to video games as well as the human form. The closer a game gets to perfection, the more glaring and inexcusable the flaws become. Only one game has so far gotten to the other side of the uncanny valley (Portal). He is first and formost a video game nitpicker. I believe Yahtzee expects the game to be good simply out of principle (he believes that other gamers should expect this as well), that way he can inform players about the flaws. When the game isn't even remotely good is when he gets really pissed off (Sonic Unleashed). When this happens you can tell because he foregoes all attempts at humor and verbally assassinates the game.

Nice review. I take his opinions seriously if he's positive about a game. I realize all his negative reviews are mostly to keep the fanbase entertained, so I mostly ignore whatever he has to say on bad games and laugh at it instead.

I sometimes get annoyed when people judge a game based on Yahtzee's review.

Example: "I've never played Metal Gear Solid 4, Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Sonic Unleashed, Halo 3, Guitar Hero: World Tour, Super Paper Mario, Grand Theft Auto 4, or Mirror's Edge, but since Yahtzee doesn't like them, they must be awful."

Well ACTUALLY, Yahtzee said Halo was an average shooter, doing nothing more or less.

Accurate review, nicely written.

Very True!!!!

I was wondering if he would ever put out a DVD of all of his reviews (up to the date it came out anyway). I wish he would, that would be a really great way to show what a true fan you are and to get some of the older episodes.

Amazing how well you reviewed his style, good job.

I have too agree with Lycaeus_Wrex Yahtzee's style has taken a wrong turn when he decided to swear more instead of good criticism with a hint of madness.

zp is slightly inconsistant in his views, he claims to have a huge dislike for jrpg's but in one of his vidoes(i belive it was for zelda:phantom hourglass but that may be wrong) where he makes an obvious reference to okami praising it as an good and original game

i love ZP my friend first showed them to me and that brought me to this site. however i dont generally take his reviews seriously. he over exaggerates the bad things and thats what makes them funny. what i tend to do it listen to his reviews for fun but if i really am considering a game ill look for its review in game informer (which iv come to trust pretty much exclusively)
