The achievements in Mass Effect give you bonuses to every character from then on. Getting x kills with an Assault Rifle allows any new characters to use assault rifles, for example. If more games did this, I'd love achievements more than I currently do [cough]50,000GS[/cough]GonzoGamer said:

That's the way it should work: the achievement trophy coincides with an in game reward but my point is that for the most part, they don't. And even when they do the rewards have been getting crappier: back to GTA4, getting the endangered species achievement/collecting the "hidden packages" got you a crappy attack chopper in the middle of the city (nowhere near a safehouse) rather than an arsenal in your safehouse.Meado said:
Achievement Trophies just seems like a pretty poor substitute especially when you consider that (in game or out) they aren't worth anything.

My brother was surprised I managed it and asked how long it took me to get through on veteran
and I just said 'heh, quite a while'.
In reality it's just plain wrong how many hours it took, it's still my only 100% and im oddly proud of it.

Any game with achievments, I can't enjoy unless I'm getting all the achievments along the way. And it pisses me off.
I hate achievments more than anything in the world. They are the worst thing to happen to games ever.

I will, cause last i checked i'm a hell of a lot closer than you are. like i said my game is inaccessible right now. halfway in the process of moving so most of the games are packed away and none of us thought not to pack it. of course i went crazy ***** on everyone and flipped out the day we moved so its understandable hahaFrank_Sinatra_ said:

I like to see myself more so as a reward slut then a whore. I tend to get a few here and there, go halfway with this one, 3/4 with another. but never really bang out enough to call myself a professional at one area of expertise. Reguardless..someone told me there was punch and pie at this meeting?
