Slightly off topic, but why would you need to be in Quarantine after going into space? You're in a sealed box from when you leave Earth to when you return.

On-topic: If they did kick him out he took his time before complaining about it. What would Garriot do with $27,000,000? Actually I don't want to know.

Read the article more closely, it's not that he got fired, it's that they penned it up as 'voluntary dismissal' thereby changing the way his stock options expired to his great disadvantage.

Not that I really care either way. :/

27 Million is a bit much. Last I heard he was suing for 24 million. A much more acceptable number.

This just in. Richard Garriott has promoted himself to Admiral British and is suing NCsoft. More on this stupidity as we receive it.

But seriously... I doubt anybody desperately needs $27 million. If whoever decides this has any sense they'll give Garriott nothing and remind him he went into space. That should be reward enough.

Garriot never struck me as the type to hold a grudge. Guess I was wrong, seeing as that's what this seems like. I mean, it's not like he needs the money.

Well, his recently-"sparked" "new interests" may be something ludicrously expensive, like running his own private space airline or something. In that case, I could see him pinching pennies even though he's already a millionaire.

I think more likely he just feels he's been fucked by NCSoft and wants to get back at them.
