Hehe a little Batman reference for an Arkham City question. I wasn't a huge fan of Arkham Asylum. I didn't particularly hate it but it didn't hold my interest enough to get very far into it. However, a buddy of mine is a huge Batman fan (I'm big into comics and superheroes Batman just isn't on the top of my list) and was talking to me about Arkham City, telling me I should buy it. He said it was a lot like Assassin's Creed, which I did enjoy.

So my question is if it really is like Assassin's Creed or if it was just my friend's Batman Bias showing through.

You know, now I want Ezio to have the Batmobile in the next Assassins Creed.

Joking aside. I've seen clips and that is all I can base my comments on (PC gamer, we don't get it until November).

It looks to be similar in playstyle to Asylum. Like I said, can't comment for sure, but none of the clips i've seen have screemed out "Assassins Creed" similarities.

Stealth and beatings. Didn't see much in the free running department (or many dodgy Italian accents) but i'm not 100% sure as I haven't played it myself.

Why comment? I don't hear anoyone ask...

Well, basically just to get the Bruceio pun in. Too good an opportunity to miss and i'll probably never get another chance to use it.

I guess there are quite a lot of comparisons but I never thought about it until now...
Open city, lots of climbing and rooftop running, similar combat style (though Arkham's is so much better and more refined). Yeah, I see it but I much prefer the Arkham games.

I just see City as Asylum but better. The world is bigger but just as detailed and immersive, there are more villains, Batman has more skills and gadgets and the story is longer.
I'm very biased because Batman is my favourite comic book hero and Arkham Asylum is one of my favourite games so I did nothing but drool for hours when I started playing Arkham City.

Anyway, yeah there are similarities when I think about it but I didn't actually notice them when playing, not like when I was playing Rage and thought "wow, this is like Borderlands except it's actually good!".
