Charlie.

A knight and a dragon live on an island.
The island has seven wells, numbered 1 to 7 - the water from each well is poisoned.
The poison from one well can be neutralised by drinking from a higher numbered well.
Well number 7 is atop an unclimbable mountain, so only the dragon can reach it.
One day, the knight and dragon have a duel. They both bring a glass of water for the other to drink, and after that they are free to do as they please until one of them dies.
Only the knight survives.
What happened?

He gave the dragon water from well number 5&6?
Then drank some of it himself?

My only guess is energy?
I'm being dense today, it took me a whole minute to figure out the maid one.

Can't be energy, energy can move backwards both in the figurative and literal sense. Also makes too many of the hints true by being inapplicable to 'energy' (such as not speeding up or slowing down. )

..........Ok ill make it even more obvious here is an added clue "I am conscious".

EDIT: also removes light, fire, warmth, shadow, darkness, nothing, everything and void.

Energy can't move backwards because it doesn't have a front or a back. It just moves.

Doesn't move mountains. Doesn't give life. Thoughts themselves aren't conscious but rather are an indication of something being conscious. Thoughts can move forwards and backwards, visiting familiar topics.

helium has a odor, also puting helium in a bucket would not make the bucket lighter.. : P (weighing a buacket filled with helium (obviously upside down so it can contain the helium..) would make it seem lighter when weighing it, but the truth is it is not the bucket that is lighter, it's the content in the bucket that is lighter. also as someone pointed out: helium is not weightless, it is just lighter than air. : p

Time doesn't exist it is a measurement humans made up to record events - it only exists in a theoretical sense. God can't move backwards because he is everything which means he occupies all off time as we call it - so it has no space to move, it can move forwards because his creation is changing. And God can destroy mountains if he could part the red sea

God is most probably also something humans made up, therefore he can't destroy or move mountains, and he won't be there after the end, and wasn't there before since he'll only exist as long as there are people around who thinks he does.
