Unfair stuff in multiplayer?

The first thing that came to my mind was Battlefield 3.

It just doesn't strike me as fair that it doesn't really separate the low level players from the high level ones, and can just sorta turn it into a steamroll if a team consisting of inexperienced low-levels have to go up against a team of high-levels who on top of being plain better that the low leveled inexperienced ones, have way more benefits as well. :[

Also: Automatic shotguns. I want to slap the person who thought that was a good idea.

I heartily concur. As previously mentioned, I am only a low level (level 25 atm) and it's all too common to be pitted against a team full of high ranking colonels who have all the weapons/equipment to own you with. Full auto shotties and machine pistols are horrendously powerful, But it also annoys me recently however how no one seems to play in a team fashion anymore. For example, 9/10 games I am the only person who plays as a recon soldier and uses a SOFLAM, thus making vehicles less of a problem and making engis lives 10 times easier. It seems to be irrelevant what kind of skill level you're at currently as it really is a case of whoever has the highest level gun wins.

I do love how I pretty much stopped hearing people call the Pyro a noob class when the Degreaser arrived. I love that weapon. It makes playing the class so technical and satisfying. I always roll Flare Gun + Degreaser + Axetinguisher. Though that does make shotgun-carrying Pyros a big threat.

axetinguisher? ha, i felt so guilty using that i switched to powerjack and never looked back. 195 damage is insane for how little effort it takes to use. not to mention if you have any skill with the flare gun it makes the axe pretty redundant.

what does that have to do the axtinguisher?
Nah, there's a drawback in its utter ineffectiveness against other Pyros as well as in water. I mostly just run from other Pyros because my loadout sucks versus them. Though I am quite skilled with the Flare gun (it accounts for about 40% of my kills as a Pyro)

what, you'd go for melee kills against pyros if you weren't carrying the axe? bull to the shit. maybe if they have the phlogistinator. . . .

Remember the rest of my loadout? Degreaser + Flare Gun + Axetinguisher. I'm overall disadvantaged against other Pyros, unless they have the same loadout.

You have obviously never played against a Wesker in UMVC3. Dark Wesker Rises indeed... Not to mention his self OTG gunshot is disgusting it's a simple fact that any team will perform ten times better if Wesker is on it.

It doesn't even take skill to make a Dark Wesker comeback! Simple teleport mix up into simple combo, boom dead from full health, boom Command Grab into simple combo dead. Air throw into combo, fucking dead!

At least with Vergil comebacks you know that one false move means death since his health is so low. Still the highlight of my Vergil was Lvl 3-ing a Dark Phoenix to death while she was spamming her Crouching L projectiles. I like pressing buttons too lady!

I agree that UMvC3 Wesker is really, really good, possibly even to the point of being braindead to play- but I stand by my first statement, I simply do not believe in "cheap". Yes, it's very easy to lose to Level 4 X-Factor Wesker, where guessing incorrectly once can cost you the game, but at the end of the day, it's still your fault you lost. There's no "win" button in the game, so assuming you didn't just stand there and let your opponent kill you, losing to Wesker means you're the bad player, not the Wesker player.

Also, in the case of UMvC3 in particular, insane comebacks and crazy mixups are really the nature of the beast. Wesker is by far the easiest character to pick-up and beast with, but spend an hour in the lab with almost anyone else in the cast and you can achieve similar results. You think fighting some scrub mashing out Wesker bread-and-butters is tough? Try going up against a dude that can sweep your best team with Hawkeye. Just Hawkeye.

In water you can. I play a lot of 2fort. Actually, almost only 2fort because the server I'm a regular on is a 24/7 2fort (You're probably asking why would I play on such a server. The community is full of awesome people and the skill level is high. It's a fun group to play with. I'd have probably quit the game already if I hadn't found them).

But yeah, the water is the only place where I'll melee a Pyro. I could press jump to stay above the water level and try to hit them with the Degreaser, but that doesn't usually go over well and just leads to me being in the water for a longer time than I'd like. The better bet is to either melee if I can get the jump on them or try to get them to chase me so they'll be running into my flames.

But you can melee a Pyro with a weapon like the Powerjack if you're good. The +75 health on kill can make it worth the risk in certain situations.

some situations, yes. most of the time it just get's you killed. as for underwater . . . well i don't play on many maps where that's really an issue. i think i killed a pyro on 2fort underwater with the homewrecker once when i was really new to the game, other than then though i don't think it's come up.
