Ring + Finger = ???

(Here in the U.S. the left "ring" finger signifies married and I heard the right ring finger signifies engaged.)

The first part of that is the same for a lot of places, here, I think that wearing a ring on your right "ring" finger doesn't mean anything.

I can't really wear rings. My fingers are pretty thin and my knuckles are noticeably wider than them. So anything that fits behind my knuckle moves around a lot and is generally irritating.

Over here, it's a wedding and engagement ring on the left hand. Apparently the finger (the one next to your pinky) has a vein running through it that goes straight to your heart which is why they do it.

I don't bother with rings because I can't wear them for work. I've given up on earrings too.

UK=Left ring finger is either married or engaged. Some girls put a ring on it to show that they aren't interested. Right hand ring finger generally means (not officially, but in my observation) that she wants to find someone for keeps, and not sex. Anything else is too much jewellery for me.

the only finger I think has a real meaning associated with it is the left ring finger being the finger associated with marriage. Interestingly, the reason is that ancient people thought that that finger was the closest finger to the heart or something.
