RIP LCD Soundsystem

One of the best indie artists ever went out with a bang last night, with arcade fire even coming in to do some backup vocals. is it just me or is anyone gonna miss these guys as much as me, they were my favorite live band of all time

They put out two gems (Sound of Silver, This Is Happening), one very good album (self-titled), and one that I've ran to for more miles than I can count (45:33. It's perfect for running). I heard it put this way over at The AV Club in an obit to the band: "Once again, you?ve made yourself invincible; there won?t be any 'LCD Soundsystem is past its prime' headlines in your future"

Now that they're calling it quits, I've been looking for bands who come close to the LCD Soundsystem sound. Every one I've tried is just lacking in one way or another (Hot Chip, YACHT, Hercules and Love Affair, The Juan McLean, Le Tigre).

The White Stripes and LCD Soundsystem gone in the same year, though. Sad times.
