I have just heard about this game Risen being made by Piranha Bytes (Gothic series). I saw the trailer and it painfully looks like a Gothic clone. Anyone heard anything about the game and/or opinions?

I saw a few videos over at Rock, Paper, Shotgun [http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2009/05/06/fantasy-world-fantasy-risen/], I've not played any of the Gothic games, but this does look interesting. I'll be watching closely to see what sort of gameplay it has.

I like the environmment trailer, but I'm still apprehensive, it feels like it might end up being just another generic fantasy RPG, though admitedly there haven't exactly been buckets of those this generation.

The content in the trailer is so similar to Gothic 3 its unbelievable. The character animation, character actions, environments its basically Gothic with better graphics
