Just came across this...

Ok, I heard that Japan had a population problem but is it enough of a crisis to warrant this?

My opinion on this is that Japan seems to have a certain affinity with robotics over other forms of contact with other living beings. In no way is that meant to offend or belittle the Japanese, it's simply what I see as an outsider.

What are your opinions on this, Escpaists? Necessary to encourage a population reboot or simply another gimmicky scare story? Or another complete different angle altogether?

Honest, they're trying too hard. Robots resembling babies will not help increase the Japanese reproducing rate. If anything, it'll reduce since the need to care for a baby-like form will be filled by the robot. There are better ways to stimulate reproduction, and this isn't it.

That's... creepy. Even more so than a human baby.

First, pretend girlfriends. Now, pretend babies.
Pretty soon, they'll have pretend everything, and never see another human.

Ah, humanity, the only species striving to replace itself

But on topic, that is just weird but what should we expect from Japan
