[HEADING=1]Robot Unicorn Attack[/HEADING]

Game can be found here: ( http://games.adultswim.com/robot-unicorn-attack-twitchy-online-game.html )

Once upon a game, a game was created so simplistic in it's structure yet deep in it's imagery it caused gamers and non-gamers alike to become addicted (this has been scientifically proven via a sample size of one gamer and one non-gamer) despite it's questionable appearance. This game, is Robot Unicorn Attack.

Now, you may at this point be asking ?but what IS Robot Unicorn Attack?! It's no console game!?. The reason for this review is because, personally, there are few Flash games that surpass it and it even surpasses a lot of console games due to how simplistic, addicting and competitive it is. You play as a robot unicorn who must run and survive as long as possible jumping from one pink platform to the next, smashing stars and collecting small rainbow/mini-unicorns trying to maximize the amount of points you have.

When you first approach this game, your initial reaction would be how fruity it is. The lives being made up of ?wishes?? The colourful background filled with pink platforms and rainbows? The soppy cheesy dance music? However, the longer you play it the more you are enticed to play more. ?Let me just get to 20,000 points!?. You'll start inviting others to play this free game, and before you know it you have a competition going on. You'll even want to listen to the background music (Always by Erasure) outside the game, even if your music tastes tend to be metal music.

No...Not that kind of fruity...

Now, you may be looking for motivation beyond just surviving (?I want to be fighting for a better tomorrow!?), and well, there isn't one. There isn't a story to how you became to be, or why you are doing what you're doing. However, this doesn't work against the game as it sounds. Neither does the simplistic nature of the game that has been done hundreds of time before (press Z to jump, press Z twice to double jump, press X to dash and break through stars). It only serves to make it more accessible to the average man/woman to give it just a try because she/he heard from a friend it's fantastic, and then embrace it with it's flamboyancy in a big cuddly pink hug.

So addictive, even your heterosexual manly friends who do keg stands and other manly activities will love it.

My recommendation, is to just try it. It's free for Christ's sake! It's best if you have volume to get the full passion of it's soft lovable fur as it cuddles you, but it can work without due to the simplistic way the game functions. Honestly, it wouldn't be long before you get hopelessly addicted for at least about half an hour, which considering how small the game is, is a very long time.

Is still unable to beat a non-gamer at it.

So very true. I love this game, and the goddamned song. I should, by every means, hate it, but I can't. Damn you Robot Unicorn Attack! Damn you!

Also, very accurate review. Everyone must give this game a chance (and you shouldn't stop because of how much masculinity you're losing. It's worth it)

Seconded. Do you bounce off it or something?

Anyway, I love this game, particularly its soundtrack. If I'm brutally honest, I actually bought Erasure's best off album after playing this game, not just "Always" :p

EDIT: Damnation, now you've got me playing it again. You owe me three days of lost time...

OT Love the game, the review? You should have scaled down the first picture a little and it was a little short, even for a flash game review. Other than that I'm impressed and I do enjoy this game as a guilty pleasure

Yeah, I will admit the pictures may be a little large. Also, I will admit it's short (which is why I called it more of a mini-view than an actual view), but it's really because with a game play this, there's not much to say. There's no story, there's no upgrade trees, there's no real ending. The only thing I could do which I didn't is dip into it's depth about how it holds some cynical and pessimistic messages which act as almost "delightfully pessimistic", but there's not really much to say on that front either. Would you mind giving examples of what I may of missed?

Also, how bias it is to it being good, yeah, probably my fault again because I simply just don't see anything wrong with the game and even the bad things work in it's favour. There is no motivation, yes, there is no story. There is a lack of any form of ending. The game is overly simplistic in the game. However, in a weird way that works out to benefit a game, the bad things benefit the game (in a phenomena known as Silent Hill 2 Syndrome). So, in terms of flash games, there wasn't much I could say that was bad enough to hurt the game.
