Don't tell me your (what I am calling) "Terminator" alarm hasn't gone off.

These things are here for your children, seriously, have you noticed the oddly advanced robotics in development as much as I have?

There are running robots, kicking robots, Karate-chopping robots, incredibly dexterous robots, what have you got when you combine all those with a little addition of AI? Death machines. Just think of it, we've already got the bases, here citing:

WHICH, INDEED, MOVES.
What more proof do you need?

Okay, maybe that last citation was a little silly, but yeah...
Do you agree? Disagree? Reasons why?

I dub the sentient AI airplane as freaky beyond all reason.

Ah come on, robots are awesome, besides we've got hardly any humanoid ones that you couldn't defeat with a nice big push.

And suddenly the idea of robots taking over the world becomes far less threatening.

Anyone else sick of these robot apocalypse jokes?

Sorry, when has the creation of AI been seen as a little addition? :S
Robotics and AI are two worlds apart - one is computing, the other is engineering. I don't think you should be worried till they put the first AI in charge of the nukes.
I'm just pointing out we already have this technology and it's only a matter of time before they start getting mass production and whatnot.
I'm hoping to god they use the same AI as the Army of Two game.

Robots taking over the world, huh? Don't think so. They don't have AI yet,and will not have it for a long time.

An opportunity of creating robotic army,on the other hand...

Robots do what they do cause they're programmed to do it. A pre determined actions to be followed.
For an upcoming robot uprising to happened, they need to become "self aware" of their existence, then judge they deserve to live by themselfs and then get to arms. And that my dear Escapist friend will not happend until we can program an algorithm of "free will" whitch is not a deterministic thing. Due to that, it's not easy to be programmed at all.

So, while we humans can't think on a sequence of actions to make machines learn for themselfs the billions of solutions one problem can have, the so called Robot Uprising will remain into our darkest dreams... or nightmares.

Skeptics aside, there hasn't been a robot or computer yet that has passed the Turing Test, so Skynet syndrome is probably a bust for now. However, it DOES help in my plans for world domination. You see, I didn't know - first hand - just how rapid and coordinated a robotic arm could be. So now...if you see a group of black armored humanoid killing machines with gasmasks...that'll be my doing.
