I find it interesting, in Science-fiction Artificial-intelligence has always been shown as hyper-intelligent ultra-rational.

You know what is so scary about this: they aren't.

They are contradictory, confrontational and use such absurd logic that frightens me more as they seem totally beyond reason or manipulation.

And I just find it fucking freaky that a machine is talking about believing in God.

That's the point, they're supposed to be jokes that you groan and facepalm to.

That is just hilarious. I want that guy that acted the worst voice acting in video games to act out that conversation.

To be fair, that conversation is on par with some drunken conversations I've had. I think good for not getting overthrown by machines for awhile yet.

Instead of building invincible war machine robots, we'll give them reality shows.

"I am not a robot. I am a unicorn."

The hell...? Did that bot just use some Doc Ellis logic...or...something? Maybe it talked with Bill Hicks before this...

She said she wasn't Christian, so obviously she believes in the Omnissiah. Doesn't sound too far-fetched to me.

Absolute highlight of that whole thing, "I am not a robot I am a unicorn."
Please tell me there are more videos.

They're just programmed that way. I think they're trying to mimic human conversations, if you look around most forums you'll find idiotic conversations like that.

...what's sad is that I've had real-life conversations that were stranger than this.

On the upside, soon we can replace "have your people call my people" with "have your robot call my unicorn robot".

I was recreating this scenario, facing cleverbot against cleverbot in different windows copy+pasting each response over and this is the last bit I got (Remember, I am tricking the Cleverbots to speak to each other, so both are cleverbot):

"Mark twain.

I hate him.

Who do you hate?

The video games.

No, I haven't. I don't generally play video games.

Are you a unicorn."

(should I continue?)

This actually reinforces my belief that, for right now, robots are entirely unable and incapable to kill the humans and take over the earth because they cannot communicate with each other.

Robot General: "Move forward and attack."
Robot Field Commander: "It is impossible, there are too many fortifications."
Robot General: "Are you a unicorn?"
Robot Field Commander: "So you are a unicorn!"
Robot General: "No, I did not say I was."
Robot Field Commander: "You said you were."
Robot General: "Oh, I must be."

To the person who can make a snarky GLaDOS-themed version of this tech that can go on my bookshelf and occasionally comment on the things I or other people say within earshot of it: I will buy it.

Hot damn ... the left robot was very slick, considering the aggressive manner of the other one. Even started lying and I'm certain he just started taking the piss half-way through. Reminds me of a conversation one of my mates had with a chick in a bar two weeks ago.

Arent they both Cleverbots?

I was of the understanding part of the cleverbot scripting is that it records conversations it has, and then later samples from the human components, and eventually alters them when enough context is given to allow the bot to work with the phrases. To create the sense of not being a bot. And thats why you get things like 'I am not a robot. I am a unicorn.' And the something =/= nothing logic.
