This is a game that was one of my favourite forum threads on a site I used to be on all the time, and I searched a few key words for it and I didn't find a thread like this yet so here we go...
Rochambeau is a way of saying "Rock-paper-scissors". So as a forum game, it's a progression of pictures (usually just things found on Google or whatever) that you use to trump the image above your's.
Believe it or not, this game can get out of hand fast, so I'mma lay down some rules:
- It must be a TRUMP, not a ONE-UP. If someone posts a picture of a pistol, you can't post a picture of a rifle and say "it wins because it's bigger" and then have someone post a picture of an RPG and say "and this one's even bigger". If someone posts a picture of a pistol, post a picture of, say, a Kevlar vest.
- Picking an image that's the most specific towards the above image is best. Sure, a black hole may defeat Superman, but it'd be more fun posting a picture of Kryptonite.
- Sometimes your awesome trump may not be as self-explanatory as you might think-- even just a brief explanation of why your image beats the above will keep things running smoothly. "Stephen Hawking is trumped by stairs because he's in a wheelchair!"
- Lots of people post on this site, so it's going to be frequent that people get ninja'd. Don't fret! Just try and trump the next most recent image.
- If someone isn't playing by the rules, feel free to skip their image and trump the next person up.
