I'm glad they put so much detail and thought into it.

"We even went to see a proper prison," said Houser. "These poor buggers in the middle of the salt flat desert, miles away. It was eye-openingly depressing."
Does this mean GTA V will have a proper prison, with inmates?

Yes GTA4, the classic New York story of arriving and then decimating half the population for money.
How could you decimate a population by half? Decimate means to reduce by 10% - to kill every tenth person of a population. It was a technique used by the Romans to punish people to set an example, without killing them all (because you want people for labor and to recruit to your side, rather than just destroying whole towns).
Nice factoid, but that's being silly, meanings change over time. Now it has taken on that of considerably reducing a population.

i can see why gta wouldnt translate well to a tv show or movie i mean how exactly do you have a scene where the main character gets bored and starts mowing down pedestrians or driving over a motorcross jump in a bus

Yeah, but I reject a lot of those redefinitions such as this one that develop via misuse. It's a so much more interesting word with its original meaning, and we already have plenty of words to describe large-scale death and destruction. I just like more novel uses of words, didn't mean to attack the user for it.

And us PC gamers are left in the cold. Fantastic

What happened Rockstar? You used to be fond of us.
Broadband internet, rampant piracy, and console domination happened.
Or at least, that's what I keep hearing.
*shrugs*

GTA4 was shiny but tepid. At least Saints Row exists to fill the void.

Ill pick it up used when its price drops in half or so like I do with all rockstar games as I always lose interest half way in. Mostly because I hate the writing style.

The big problem I have with GTA's American Dream message is that the development team are British. It's a long standing British tradition to be cynical about our own cultural fallacies, but it feels like bad form to so openly rag on someone elses

I hope there never is a GTA film. If there was, it'd just be a film about a guy who gets caught up with criminals with a bit of personal shit caught in the middle. The difference between seeing a GTA film and playing GTA is that I can run down pedestrians with myu car before missing my turn, slamming on the breaks, hitting the curb and angle right, sliding my car up a set of stairs on the side of a building, drift ALONG THE FUCKING WALL and land back on my wheels.

And then rage because no one saw it nor will anyone ever believe me that such a feat was possible. It's like all my time spent in Just Cause 2.
