Just a small question i think you guys can help me with..

(If this thread already exists, please tell me where and close this one)

I'm quite new to this roleplaying business, and i need some pointers for offline "people and paper" roleplaying... I have no idea how to start a RP game with a group of friends.. Are there any complete adventures written? I've tried it once with a group of friends, but it got a bit out of control due to a lack of prep-work me thinks. You guys have any pointers or inspiration? Magazines are fine, books are fine, online things are fine etc. etc.

(I'm interested in DnD, Horror, and perhaps warhammer (rogue trader, mordheim etc. )

Any help would be fine. But please dont go 4chan on me.. I still have some faith in the internet...

Maybe you should look into these if you're just getting started:

http://www.wizards.com/dnd/Product.aspx?x=dnd/products/dndacc/217367200

http://www.wizards.com/dnd/Product.aspx?x=dnd/products/dndacc/217207200

These are the three core rulebooks for Dungeons & Dragons.

EDIT: The Escapist has also recently done a series of articles on running a pen and paper RP.

TSR D&D or the newer Wizards of the Coast stuff. If you were to get "H1: Keep on the Shadowfell" that's a starting adventure with quick start rules and some characters to get your players going. In fact, if you PM me your e-mail address I can send you the pdf files.

Try New World of Darkness from Whitewolf. It's a more modern setting than D&D, ie now.
