I was thinking about starting an RP thread in the appropriate forum. I was thinking that it should be by invitation only, but I'm not sure how often I can take charge of it. I have a lot of work to do, and that coupled with bad memory and an almost unhealthy, zealous interest in games doesn't leave many holes in my daily schedule.

I was wondering if someone could either give me a tip on how to transfer more power to the participants without leaving them entirely in charge, or if someone could volonteer to help me run the game.

EDIT: Gah, thread title typo. Ignore that please.

Well...

The only way I can think of is by running something like Amber, that allows people to work out how they would survive without dice rolls.

Problem is...

You're giving them Gods to play.

Ah, Amber. Is there another game where the player-vs-player antagonism starts at the beginning of the character generation process?

Bring in systematized rules.

Not that "roll to see if you hit" stuff, though.

Just conventions for how each player can shape the narrative. Frameworks that encourage negotiation (basically by giving you some kind of game-mechanical stick to threaten other people with) are my favorite.

If you're looking for direct tabletop examples...
Amber is an example. I'd basically draw the line at anything "heavier" than Amber.
The basic "key phrase" structure of Polaris is very versatile, even though the game with all its bits put together is very focused.

Thats a tough one, not sure how your gonna pull this off, RP's need a good moderator/DM to run them.
Most people here use Amber's anyway so it wouldn't be that bad, but you'd need somebody else who's on more than you to co-run it

Damn, I kept on starting sentences and then realizing I can't finish them. Basically, I'd be willing to help you out, but I'll probably be on less than you as I enter my busiest two months yet, so I don't know how much help I'll really be.
