I am the DM of the Digimon RP (Code Incarnate) running in the Forum Games and RP board, and I am having the most fun I have ever had in a long time.

Renamon and myself are a great team, as well as everybody in the group of Tamers. We have all fleshed out our Digimon's personalities quite well.

We're an odd bunch like that.

EDIT: I just noticed who made this thread. Embarrassing.

I roleplay when I game, even on non-RPG games. Originally, I did it to break my "cheating" habbits (bunnyhopping, save scumming, heal spam, rocketjumping, etc), but honestly, I just find it fun.

Why I don't? Other things interest me more.
Plus, DND requires friends who like it, and on-line gaming requires computer time. I share this computer with my family.

Because the thought of creating a new and separate personality for myself to act through disturbs me.

But you should know Kiru... you're in it!

And of course i guess if you can't Calumon as Role play then so be it. Count Calumon.

Calumon: I'm a real Digimon! I am, I am, I am!

Humility.
Ooooooh snap!

I do not roleplay. I dunno why, I've always felt self conscious when I try.

I used to play wow and I always loved it when you would come across a roleplayer in general chat or trade chat or something (on an RP server no less) and everyone made fun of them. Good times.

I play on a RP-PvP Server on World of Warcraft, helped a friend of mine run a well-known in-game pub on our server (EU-Defias Brotherhood).

As for any other type of Role Play, when my mate Gary comes down from Preston me, him and our mates Sam and Porky(Ross) bust out some Dark Heresy.

When he's Preston however my girlfriend and I go round our mate Anna and her husband Chris's house for some good old Hero Quest.
We've been mostly doing pre-made dugeon crawling quests, so no opportunity for full on RP yet, we're waiting until we break out the advanced rules, But regardless of what level we're at, our mate Anna actually cries whenever Chris (who's our GM) kills one of our characters... It's usually Andrew, our Wizard.

I play 4th edition D&D with a bunch of friends, but it's been like... two months since our last session and we haven't finished the damn adventure yet.

Personally, I have Dark Heresy, Rogue Trader, d20 Modern, Star Wars Saga Edition and a player's handbook to a Star Trek RPG that I have never played and probably never will play in my bookshelf.

I am an avid roleplayer, both on the comp and of the pen&paper variety.

But not MMOs. Too much grind for my tastes.

I do it, because I like the games and the settings, as well as asking the 'what if' questions and playing with situations without real-life consequences. Or, you know, just pretending for one moment that I can bends space and time and fate to my will.

On p&p I've played World Of Darkness (both old and new), Cyberpunk 2020, Shadowrun, RuneQuest, Blossoms Are Falling add-on for the Burning Wheel system, Exalted, D&D of various editions and so on on similar vein. My favourites are D&D v3.5 and Exalted.

If you did, I didn't receive anything! Really, I haven't had a message in my Escapist inbox for days. The Earth General is dead now though, so we're getting ready to move on.

I play D&D and am the DM 90% of the time. I've designed half a world with intricate maps, and am quite good at improvisation, so my friends continue to insist that I be DM.

I and some buddies are considering starting up a game of DnD. I've never tried it before though.

RPGs are my favorite past time. It's hard to arrange, but I have a regular group and some campaigns and nothing is more fun. Video game RPGs don't even begin to compare, they lack so much freedom and options. But I enjoy them a lot too.

I would consider this backwards. RPGs are of the pen and paper/tabletop variety. That's where they came from. You play video game RPGs, which, to my mind, has very little in common with RPGs, except being fun. Stats do not make something a role.

I am not only a roleplayer, but an advocate for it.

Since I was in 7th grade, I have been taking part in free form roleplay's (aka. forum/chat games) to the point of creating my own sites, all of which are now unfortunately dead.

Since High School, I have been leading and taking part in tabletop rpg's, beginning with D&D 3.5 and eventually extending to Shadowrun and Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay.

Why do I roleplay?

It was originally a way for me to escape what seemed like a tedious life at the time (angst angst angst). Also, I enjoyed meeting characters and then learing who controlled them at a later time.

Also, I've used the games I've played as inspiration to write my novels.

Plus, I met my wife in a roleplaying chat room, so that seemed to work out for me too.
