I sincerely believe that a better understanding of the components making up this wonderful community, that is, you, fellow players and storytellers, would be beneficial to my and your own ability to design and play better games, fit for this forum and it's frequent visitors.
It would help me(and hopefully the rest of the community) greatly if you won't mind to spend but a few short yet precious moments of your time to answer the following questions for me:

What is your gender?
What is your age?
Where do you come from?
How would you define the measure of your experience/skill with such games?
How frequently do you visit this forum?
What are your gaming preferences?(What styles of play do you like? Some prefer more mechanical or action oriented games, others would like to focus on the relationships between characters and on personal drama. How much control do you like to receive from the Game Master? What genres of story do you like?)
Do you often play such games outside of this forum?
How much effort do you think needs to be poured into every post in a game?(Do you prefer page long posts or a just a few lines every time?)
At what rate do you like your games to advance?(How many posts per day make you comfortable?)

I know that many of this question are answered, in fact, in your forum profile page, but this one does not tell whether you are role players or not, and how frequently you visit this forum.

Once again, thank you very much for your time and thought. I truly hope that together, we will allow for a future of better forum based role playing fun.

Ireland, before that China, Before that England.

Im not new but i wouldn't say im a Veteran, i like to think im at least somewhat known round these parts, i guess im So-so

Im on this nearly everyday

I like both as much as the other and as for control, i dont really mind, obsessive control pushes it though. I Love fantasy (Orks, Elves, Man, Ectera) and Sci-Fi and Modern or Past Warare. Fiction is my thing, but i do like RP's losely based on Reality, i myself in the making an Fictional RP of WW2 through the eyes of Germany.

No, i play them here, and only here.

Cheers.

Forum Rping I have no experience, tabletop RPing quite a bit.
Once a Day
Action/room for character development
Lots of Game Master control
Fantasy e.g. Dungeons and Dragons or Futuristic
Occasionally
Lots maybe page long, but can be little if action is fast
about 5-10 posts per day would work.

I may as well throw in my two cents...

Gender: (Normally I don't disclose this >.> ) Female.
Age: (Dammit, why did I have to decide to post in this thread? >.> ) 18.
Location: England, simply enough. Well, currently.
Skill/Experience with RPs: Inexperienced/Novice.
Forums Visits: Every day.
Gaming Preferences: I suppose I prefer focusing on the actions. I can describe things easier that writing up relationships. I prefer the GM to keep everything strictly under control. I prefer Sci-Fi, but they are hard to come by, so I don't mind joining other RPs, as I have a range of interests.
Outside RPing: Negative.
Posting Effort: Well, I like to post between 2-4 paragraphs per post, but I haven't really done much recently...
RP game advance rate: Well, I prefer it to be slower, maybe a page or so a day, of decent posts (As in, more content than a line or two, otherwise the RP gets flooded).

Wait, damn, did I actually type this out? >.>

Gender: Male
Age: 17
Location: Rural Alberta, Canada
Skill/Experience with RPs: I like to think I'm quite experienced. I've been forum RPing non-stop since December '08 (16 months)
Forums Visits: Daily
Gaming Preferences: I have a range of interests. I like to have action in my RPs, but if it's purely action I won't enjoy myself. I treat my characters as a part of myself so I have to be able to play the character and have a plot, development, and meaningful interactions.
Outside RPing: You mean tabletop RPing? Never tried.
Posting Effort: I like lots of effort, but effort doesn't necessarily mean length. Page-long posts are nice, but rarely necessary unless it's a pivotal point in the story. I despise one-line posts. One line of dialogue or a simple action is not enough to make a character. If there is no emotion, or description of why they are making this action, the character is nothing more than a cardboard cut-out excreting words from it's face. No soul.
RP game advance rate: I like a medium pace. If I can get a post or two in during the day, go to bed, and have a post or two to read when I wake up I'm happy. If a page is filled in a single day, it's moving too fast and more-than-likely has questionable quality. If there is nothing posted for more than a day at a time, it's too slow.

This is a good thread, I hope plenty of people post in this. I learned something about myself from writing this.

Gender: Male.
Age: 17
Location: British Columbia, Canada
Skill/Experience with RPs: Very experienced, I may not be the best writer here but I have been RPing for more than a year now... which actually doesn't sound all that impressive but I have been in my fair share of RPs
Forums Visits: Every day.
Gaming Preferences: Action isn't my strong suite, so I like developing characters and relationships. As for the setting/genre... I don't care really, I am up for and have done pretty well everything.
Outside RPing: Never have probably never will
Posting Effort: It depends really, there are some RP's I am in which people only occasionally post so I think at least 2 or 3 paragraphs is necessary. However, one paragraph is perfectly fine is most situations, especially when it comes to fast moving RPs.
RP game advance rate: I don't like RP's that gain thirty pages in one day, I don't really care otherwise, as long as it is consistent with the game that is being played and I post when necessary.

What is your gender?- Male
What is your age?- 17
Where do you come from?- California, USA
How would you define the measure of your experience/skill with such games?- I've been RPing for the better part of a year now, I'm still learning things but I'd definetly say I've got the ropes.
How frequently do you visit this forum?- Just about everyday and at every oppurtunity that is presented to me.
What are your gaming preferences?- Christ I can't really say, I suppose I don't really care, whether I like a game or not really depends on the people and whether or not their styles mesh with mine. I don't think I'v done an RP that wasn't action or some sort of high-fantasy though.
Do you often play such games outside of this forum?- I have never RP'ed on another forum, but I did first learn about them on another one.
How much effort do you think needs to be poured into every post in a game?- It depends on the situation with me, character interactions should be short, because you want to give the other person the chance to act. So if the characters are having a conversation, then one to two sentence posts are fine, because the moments about the conversation, not the characters subtle lisp or the way he's sitting. On the other hand, description posts should be long, especially when describing a room.
At what rate do you like your games to advance?- Depends on the participation of the group as a whole, if it is going fast because everyone is contributing then that's good, because there's no sense going slower that what everyone's comfortable with. But if it's going fast because a small group of people are just pulling the plot along as it's conveniant to them, then thats bad because it alienates the slower posters.

What is your gender? Male. Don't listen to what the others tell you.
What is your age? 18 since Friday! d(^_^)b
Where do you come from? England, land of Harry Potter and truffles!
How would you define the measure of your experience/skill with such games? Semi-experienced. I'd like to say experienced, since I've been here for nigh on two years now and I've done some RPs that have me nostalgic just remembering them, but no-one likes an egotist.
How frequently do you visit this forum? Most days.
What are your gaming preferences? I'm actually rather versatile. I like a bit of everything. Relationships, action, fantasy or sci-fi, there is no RP style that Revolverwolf won't try at least once.
Do you often play such games outside of this forum? Not often, but I do.
How much effort do you think needs to be poured into every post in a game? Again, variety. It depends on the RP in question. I would rather like it if people put in enough effort to make several paragraphs in a post, but sometimes the situation doesn't call for it.
At what rate do you like your games to advance? I used to like only a few posts a day, but I've learned that some RPs seem to gather quite a lot more than I had first thought. I guess I've grown comfortable with about a few pages a day as long as everyone is willing to make sure you completely understand the changes that have happened in the mean time.

Canadiens, Shaps? Canucks are the top team this year man.

What is your gender? Male (Shocking I know.)
What is your age? 21 (Damn it I'm the oldest one here...Least I can drink everywhere)
Where do you come from? Nova Scotia (If anyone needs me to tell them the country, I will be very disappointed.)
How would you define the measure of your experience/skill with such games? Been doing it for a good 4-5 years at least now.
How frequently do you visit this forum? Every day multiple times. Whenever I'm bored pretty much.
What are your gaming preferences? I don't really have many preferences. I like to keep things semi-realistic, not a fan of the other races sort of deal generally. I'm a realistic writer so that's what I try to stick to. I like a GM who knows where they want to go with an RP, so there's a goal for the characters.
Do you often play such games outside of this forum? Not anymore.
How much effort do you think needs to be poured into every post in a game? I'm not one of those people who thinks you have to have like two paragraphs every time you post. Sometimes all you can put is a sentence or two, just going along with what's already there, just to check in. Although really there should be any kind of "My guy went there too." kinda of deals. Every post should add a thought, an angle, something like that to the story. If it can't do that, it doesn't need to be there.
At what rate do you like your games to advance? Depends. Times like this, I like a fast paced RP, something I can get multiple posts in. When I'm home however, which is coming up soon, I'm probably only going to be able to get one post a day if that in, so slower paced is awesome for me.

Outside RPing: No

RP game advance rate: About a page per day

Gender: Female
Age: 18

Experience/Skill: Well, I've been in a fair few now, I'd say I was "Experienced enough" With them, maybe not Skilled enough though, I still think I have a lot to learn.
Frequency: Every day, unless I have no internet. (Which is usually very rare)
Gaming Preferences: Fantasy/survival ones are the ones I'm usually best at (I tend to do those way more). I don't mind everyday life ones, but I've never been in those ones for very long. I don't mind the story as long as it stays open enough for all characters to be involved.
Game Outside The Forum: Never. I only RP here :/
Effort: I'd say a medium effort. Sometimes you can't help a one liner, specially if you're stuck in a corner. But I'd prefer people to try and write as much as they can. (Although over 4 paragraphs is pushing it if you're interacting with other characters too, if you're solo in the RP then it's all good~)
Advance Rate: Slowly. One page a day is pushing it for me. I tend to get writers block a fair bit, so I like it if I can be away for a few days, without coming back to find I've been left behind/ killed off/ completely forgotten.
I can't do those fast ones that get around 5 pages a day, they make me want to cry xD I don't like it when everyone is online either, 'cause then you can get ninja'd by someone while typing up your post (Although I've gotten into the habit of checking first).

Heh. This is sorta set out like a character sheet. Good job I don't have to put a name, I always get stuck on those D:

Gender: Male
Age: 17 until October
Location: Alston, Cumbria, England
Skill/Experience with RPs: aside from the one i'm currently taking part in, none
Forum Visits: since joining an RP i visit very frequently, don't want to miss an event
Preferences: i prefer games with depth and a bit of realism in the action aspect, but to be honest i'm up for almost anything as long as there's a certain amount of freedom in my own characters actions.
Outside RPing: see "Skill/Experience with RPs"
Posting Effort: enough effort to understand what's going on, be able to create at least a rough picture of events and be able to read it without pausing to look at stupid spelling mistakes (petty i know but that's just me)
RP game Advance rate: i would like for the RP to progress quickly, but realistically about one page per day as we all have different things to do.

Figured I'd post here myself. It's only fair, after all.

Gender: Male
Age: will be 17 in a four five months or so, I think.
Location: Ra'nana, Israel.
Skill/Experience with RPs: Since I was 8, I think. That's like 9 years or so. Mostly a GM but also a player at times. Played with so many systems I can't remember them all right now. Been there, done that. Also active on Israeli RP forums, where language is far less a problem.
Forum Visits: a few times a day.
Outside RPing: Around once a week with my real life troupe.
Posting Effort: Would like my posts in games to be far longer, but it's really difficult to write good long paragraphs in a language other then your native one.
RP game Advance rate: Prefer a few pages a day, but when I play on an international forum I really try to slow down.

Heh....I don't usually give out information, but this seems pretty basic.

Gender: Male.

Age: 21 (apparently I'm pretty damned old to be doing this!)

Location: USA, Michigan

Skill/Experience with RPs: Little to none

Forums Visits: Every day.

Gaming Preferences: Though I'm not sure I'm the best judge of this, I guess I like some action, but a lot of detail in characters.. I like the GM to have some limited control, but otherwise allows characters to develop themselves, and the environment around them to an extent. I haven't really RPed enough to really know where I stand. I guess I like it when there is a good cast with me to rock and roll with!

Outside RPing: Never
Posting Effort: About a paragraph or so. I like a good description of thoughts and actions.
RP game advance rate: No proper limit, but I do like times where multiple people are on so it can quickly move forward through parts...
