Tomorrow I'm leaving for Rome. I'll be staying there for three days and we're wondering what, besides the obvious stuff (the Coliseum etc), to go and see and do. Now, I know some Escapists are fairly well travelled or may even live there, so I'm asking you if you have any reccomendations on what to do while I'm out there.

What should I do?

Get into a fist fight with the pope and steal the apple of eden?

Drink a lot of wine. The Mediterranean areas are famous for production of good wine.

Get wasted, find a pack of bohemian wolves and let them train you for The Roman Fight.

Local cuisine.

Well, this was obvious, but what's not so obvious is walking around and looking for places with lots of locals, not tourists. Those generally give the best experience.

Ehm, and drink and eat a lot.
Is Pompeii and Vesuvius to far away for you time table? Takes about 3 hours to get there if I remember correctly.

I'd say, from now until tomorrow, train to be an assassin. Upon arriving in Rome, track down the pope and proceed to engage in a seven hour annoying battle with him. Bring an apple just in case.

The Trevi Fountain is beautiful at night and their are loads of local resturants in the little side streets around it, so i highly reccomend it.
