Man Utd have just accepted a bid from Real Madrid for £80 million!!! That's insane! And Real have just paid £56 million for Kaka too!

These transfer fees are just getting bloody stupid.

Sucks for Man Utd though-whatever people say about him, he is undoubtedly a major, major asset, though Utd have the strength and depth in their squad to cope without him. It is a big blow however.

Yeah I read that this morning and was thinking how insane it's becoming...Is Real printing their own money or something?

We could force the footy clubs to sell all their players to dig the country out of debt ^^

Whatever you say Lenin.

£80 million though, just imagine what a guy could get himself with that kinda scratch?

I guess it isn't that unbelievable. I mean people pay sums like that for the highest quality works of art and other extravagant things. Still you can sell on the Mona Lisa once you become bored of it, if Ronaldo breaks his leg then bye bye £80 million.

For any Americans thats about $130,000,000, Euros thats about ?94,000,000.

That's a ridiculous sum of money. That could solve so many problems around the world... instead its moving a self indulgent sportsman from one club to another.
Can you really put a pricetag on one man's *ahem* 'labour'?

£80 million for a spoilt little brat, good deal I think.

If nothing else it'll show the world that he is not worth that kind of money, for all the schtick about his being 'a major asset' he was never more than one man of 11. Man U's lost Cantona, Beckham and others in their past and kept winning, it's the team and not the player that makes them so effective.

Besides, if he's being let go you can gaurantee Fergie's got at least two young strikers capable of replacing him.
