Room Decoration

[Paragon Fury]

So I was sitting here in my room trying to decide on decorations. As some of you may know, its been contentious in previous years, but now that I'm a Senior I decide to say "The hell with it" and put up some more stuff in my room. Of course this is me we're talking about, which means only a couple of neatly arranged posters here and there. However, I'm having trouble deciding exactly which ones to put where.

For reference, here is what my room looks like currently.

That GITS poster is the only decoration I've had in my room for the last 3 years I've been at college.

Now, the two spaces I'm looking to fill are the space directly above the head of my bed (not pictured) and the long blank wall with the board on it to the left, and possibly even the spot above my desk.

I just can't decide what to put where, or even which ones to get. This is what I have been considering so far.

So, what would you pick, keeping in mind there are a couple of space limitations for each area and the room as a whole.

None of the above, all of those posters are way tacky and the anime ones have really garish color schemes. The only exception being the last one before "Other Options".

I prefer things to be more subdued. I have a picture of the moon at sea on my wall, across from my bed.

I think if a guy invited me back to his room and had them on his walls, I'd walk straight back out. Nothing wrong with anime pictures, but like Dags said, a little bit too tacky. I do like the last anime poster though, that's nice.

I bought it off a lovely lady an expo, it's just amazing.

At the minute, all I have is Kerrang! posters but when I move I'm hoping to settle there. I told my boyfriend I don't want the flimsy paper posters up and want to buy a load of them large band/music/artsy posters and put them up round the house to make it feel more homely.

The best option would be to hold up a poster against the walls at different places and see which place looks best to hang it. Spreading the posters out looks good too, mine are all over at the minute and they look stupid ¬_¬

Seconded. I've got an Arthas poster on my wall, but it's a pretty tame (and awesome) one.

It's this, but with the top, bottom, and right half cut off, and almost entirely in B&W.

The 3 shooter ones you've suggested seem to be the most boring images you could choose for those games, while the animé ones (with the possible exception of the last) are really tacky and would make you look like an asshole. I mean really? Half naked anime chicks with giant breasts on your walls? Where people can see them?

P.S. You've got a whole cooking set in your room? my halls won't even let me take a minifridge.

Another student house, closer to the college, same rent, gets them as standard. Bastards.

One sec, gonna check if our house beats them on anything.

Anyway, out of that lot, I'd just go for the Halo Reach and the second wall scroll (he says with trepidation), though I agree with Dags about preferring more subdued visuals. I have half a dozen wall scrolls of FMA, GitS, Studio Ghibli and RahXephon, and a few Luis Royo artwork posters. I occasionally swap out stuff for naval combat prints and military mechanical design posters. *shrug* my two cents...

In my opinion, the Ibuki poster wouldn't look too bad on one of those walls. The others are a tad bit creepy for my tastes and the shooter images are really normal and boring (I'd go with the Reach poster though if faced with the choice).

I'm sorry if you feel I'm racking down on your taste, but it's the maternal instinct/gay male interior designer in me. Right now it's going, "Oh honey. Really?"

In the end it IS your room, but if I were you I'd go with the more tasteful, less outre ones. The one with the girls with the racks of what looks like shiny pink water balloons? I'd definitely give that one a miss.

Its kind of hard to find good action scenes for games, particularly for FPS games.
