They suck, discuss. XD

My first year in college I had a roommate who not only never showered but hung around our room naked. When I confronted her about it she said "we're both girls, who cares?" She also bought a fish from a pet store but no tank so it died in the bag.

That was when I moved out.

One left used sanitary towels/plasters(bandages) all over the place.

Another had a dog that just shat and pissed everywhere.

And the last would stay in all day when I was at work, playing games and leaving rubbish about the house...Do his share of the dishes and then expect everyone else to clean up the rest of the place.

I now have no house mates...luckily my mortgage has halved! =D

My current roommates started out decently enough but have gone downhill to the point of last month, I literally have been stayed at my girlfriends house always and I was home for a total of 5 minutes roughly last month. My one roommate is in a band and the other one is dating him. To eliminate any confusion, 2 guys and a girl live at my house. Being in a band can be rough so I can understand why Lindy doesn't do much but it's gotten to the point where no one does anything. I'm not touching a single thing in that house because for one, I haven't been there. Why would I clean a house where it has been totally demolished by a dog (Half German Shepherd, Half Black Lab) that is not mine, dishes have been dirtied and left to sit in the sink for days on end? Grrrrr! Sorry. Rant over.

I have a good friend stay with me a few days a week... personally I would much rather live by myself. Nothing against him, I just enjoy my own company. I'm sooo happy he's not here tonight, it means I get to do what I want to.

I've only ever lived communally, meaning a large house, so when there was 7 of us, most of them were pretty decent, one girl was ALL about the drama but fortunately she was hardly ever around. One guy kept cheese in his cupboard and never cleaned it out so it was also full of crumbs and eventually mold but it was his stuff and it didn't touch mine.

When there was 5 of us (different house) I lived with 2 couples and that sucked, I kept to myself mostly but was branded the messy one when I stayed in the library all night getting 2 essays done (that was uni obviously) and had left my lunch stuff out. Baring in mind I was cooking for 1, there was a saucepan, plate, knife, fork, spoon, bowl and crumbs on the draining board for 48 hours coz I wasn't there. I thought it was a little unfair to be whinged at for that, but it was a one off in a year.

Now I'm married so there is only 2 of us, he doesn't count as a room mate I guess tho.

I have TWO roommates and while One is cool I am steadily losing my patience with the other: He has this blazing need to make sure that all HIS needs are catered to while the needs of the other people he lives with can be casually blown off. What's worse he seems to think that he's some sort of chef so every other day the house is filled with some foul smell that is NOT the usual foul smell of his sweaty exercise bike that is in the living room. Regrettably, I don't have the financial chops to move out...

I?ve never had a roommate as bad or inconfuckingsiderate as what many of you are describing. I tend not to room with someone until I know them very well. For example my current roommate I have been friends with for 21 years.
I just lucked out in college. At my university they ask you what hobbies you have, what kind of music you like, your major and even if you smoke/drink. They then pair you as best they can if you don?t request someone specific.
My first college roommate was a nice guy but he flunked out. My 2nd college roommate had achondroplasia wheres I am 6?6? (about 198cm), which presented some? interesting challenges. He is still a good friend of mine to this day though (and he's got a doctorate in chemistry, guess who I'm hitting up for money?)

edit: achondroplasia; a type of dwarfism

I've been lucky so far.

Once I moved out of my parents house I found a one bedroom apartment and have been living by my self. I wouldn't have it any other way frankly, I need look no further than my friends who do have room mates to see that they're often times nothing more than huge pains in the ass.

Closest Ive ever been has been having a free house or staying in my brothers place, both of which are always great. Cant wait to have a free house again.

I live in university housing. So we got matchmade by the server for a rumble pit.

Everyone is cool. But the one guy I share a room with is nice, but can get right under my skin. Its ok because next year I get my own room!

You will reconsider that sooner or later, trust me...
It's been nearly a year and nothing yet. I just love having this whole place to myself!
Yeah, I know the feeling. But in a few years, you gonna miss home, trust me...
