At first, I thought Rosalina and Luma were new versions of the Ice Climbers. Perhaps they are a new take on a two character fighter. Would like to know if Nintendo would offer the fans a chance to play the game before it hits shelves...

Also, if someone could get Nintendo by the ear, they need to rename the latest Smash Bros game than just SSB for 3DS and WiiU. Something on the lines like Super Smash Bros Showdown or something. Plus offer more info on returning and new characters on a more regular basis wouldn't hurt.
Someone please give this guy a medal. Nintendo is terrible at naming stuff for some reason. You would think they learned their lesson having gone from DS to 3DS or Wii to Wii U, but nooooooo:

- Super Smash Bros. (N64)
- Super Smash Bros. Melee (Gamecube)
- Super Smash Bros. Brawl (Wii)

Looks fine so far, then:
- Super Smash Bros. (Wii U)
[small]for Wii U[/small]
- Super Smash Bros. (3DS)
[small]for 3DS[/small]

Nintendo: "Wow, that looks like a great idea!"

Like you said, adding Showdown or whatever after 'Super Smash Bros.' would make complete sense looking at how the previous titles were named but making sense just isn't the Nintendo way of doing things. :D It's so simple, yet apparently so hard for Nintendo to make things right these days. I don't even want to go into detail about the "for Wii U/for 3DS part"...

In hindsight, it isn't much of a surprise that Rosalina and Luma join the fighting roster.
On topic: I always loved Rosalina but unlike mentioned in the main article I believe it is very surprising that they insert her in the new Smash since I think that Nintendo has gotten retarded over the last few years. Looking at the naming issue mentioned above together with the awkward pacing and order they choose to release info I kind of lost faith in Nintendo's ability to make good decisions.

Rosalina is a perfect addition to the Smash rooster to the point where it's a no-brainer. She was the most interesting part of Mario Galaxy as she is essentially the story part of the game - a series where even having a story was something special, I loved those Storybook parts btw - and she is just really popular due to her design and charm. Adding her just makes sense and I can't wait to play her.

By comparison, the addition of Wii Fit Trainer and Villager seems awkward, yet, they chose them instead of Rosalina to promote the game at E3. Those 2 make for some strange fighting game material. Granted, so did Phoenix Wright in MvC3 but Phoenix Wright is - like Rosalina - a very popular character, something you can neither say about Wii Fit Trainer nor Villager. Wii Fit Trainer wasn't even a character per se before her addition to the Smash rooster, dunno about Villager but his name suggests the same. The same can be said about Mr. Game & Watch, but his unique style (2D, low amount of frames) and the retro feeling made him very likeable.

A character I would love to see in the new Smash is Isaac from Golden Sun. I think they also have the rights to the IP so I see no reason why they wouldn't add him as a genuine character. A lot of people were very disappointed when they found out that Isaac was in Brawl but only as an assist trophy.
