this takes place during the clone wars on the planet i made up called Maxeus Renthar. it is currently controlled by jedi and clones and attacked by sith and droids and moving on from there. you make your own jedi (or sith or any other kind of fighter you want) and go on form there.

Rules: no god modeing which means no controlling the opponent, no invincibility ect.

my profile

name: Rez Terreth
side: jedi
lightsaber: green
appearance: http://tn3-1.deviantart.com/fs12/300W/i/2006/284/8/2/Jedi_Knight_Heeda_Tssa_color_by_Hidatsa.jpg
age: 19
back round: trained under master plokoon until i was granted the rank of jedi knight and survived the battle of geanosis and has been stationed here ever since as commanding officer.

Hey I would highly recommend that if you want to make this RP actually happen, then you need to do a few things. First set up some form of backstory that gives players enough interest in the storyline to join in. Second, actually have some form of rule system other than the basics of no god-mod, etc. Rules help establish how often people can post, what kinds of things their characters should/can be, how combat will work (in this case), and generally give off a feeling that you know what your doing as a GM. Third, give the character models you demand enough detail where people actually want to play them (I have no feel for your character at all).

Generally put some time and thought into an RP before posting it. I thought about the last one I did for weeks before I actually posted it, and did some research. Other people do the same and their RPs also turn out well.

Just thought you might appreciate the advice.

To add onto what Abako said, there are already some Star Wars RPs around, and some Space Fleet ones, too.

Etrius, I see that you've only been here 3 days, which is great, welcome to the Escapist! But why the hurry? Kick back, relax, check out some of the RPs, see how we tend to do things around here and then either join or start an RP. If you haven't already, you should check out the RP Guidelines.

The poster above me is the resident Ass-kicking Femme [fatale?] Sith with a very rambunctious Star Wars RP, already in progress and has been so for several months now.

I'm not joining this RP, but good luck with it. You have some hard acts to follow in terms of Star Wars RPs, between Mscher, Mobius, and Jalil(Empyrean?), you may leave a few disappointed.
Also, it is highly suggested that you participate in a few RPs here before running your own.
Also, yeah, we need moar informationzz before anyone will join this. Posting a generalized sentence about location, but giving no indication about the story is poor form. Also, the GM's Char sheet should almost never be so short, you need to make your char a person, with flaws and a life, from the look of you're backstory now, it seems that nothing else interesting has happened to your char from the moment he was born.

While Spartan is correct here, I find it very funny to think of the way he wrote the character sheet as a very clever satire of how boring life as a jedi youngling/padawan was for some of them lol.

But enough of my jokes, the best recomendation I can give is to just try joining a few RPs. That is the best way to learn the ropes around here and many of our regular GMs are nice people who are willing to give new people a chance and let them play. But make sure you try hard and actually put in the effort that playing in one requires, or people will quickly begin to dislike you (at least around here from what I have seen).

Well thank you!

Oh, Queen of Hearts is definitely not your standard RP and not something I would recommend joining at this point. It's closer to a group-written novel, really. The plot is pretty closely controlled, the posts are expected to be psychologically in-depth (read: long - generally around 1000 words long, and stretching up into the 5000-word range), and in order to play, you need to know the whole thing up to the point you join. Anyone who wanted to join now would need to ask themselves if they are willing to wear out their fingers in 1000-word blocks and if they are willing to read the 72,000 words we have written so far. 80,000 words is officially a novel. We will definitely reach novel length at this point. Yeah, I am bragging.

You might want to check out the Ratings Battle RPs. They are set up tournament style, with each combatant telling their own version of the battle, and the victor is based on whose story was better written.

This is not to say that you need to join these threads, but the more successful RPs around here tend to be very detail and story oriented. Empyrean has just started a Dragon RP, I believe, and Mobius just finished a Sith apprentice RP. I just took over Qayin's survival-horror RP as well. If you really want to do a Star Wars RP, keep an eye open and another one is sure to pop up, or jump in on the next RP to come down the pipe.

Good god Mshch I didnt realize how indepth Queen of Hearts was! Just.... WOW. I am now embarking upon reading the ENTIRE thing because this looks like it will be great. I have read more than 60 Star Wars Novels so this defintely pertains to my interests. I have a feeling I might ask to join once I get this entire thing read and committed to memory... But it might be a few days.

I've been taking big chunks of it, editing and polishing them up, and posting them in chapter format on the Lucasforums boards. If you are interested in reading the whole thing, it might be easier to do there, but of course it's not nearly caught up to where we are now.

I would say the Blades of Retribution RPs are a better example of a true RP than QoH, because the players have much more decision-making ability, and the story responds to their actions, rather than dictating them. QoH is a different animal, really, much more fic than game.

Blades of Retribution 1 and 2 where both very good games. It is a pity that both died in the manner that they did. Both went out with wonderful bangs, the first because Ultrajoe turned up and the second because he left, however it would have been good if both could have lasted a little longer and then end with mighty crescendo of Star Wars greatness. Oh well, maybe next time.

Anyway, if you want to take part in a Star Wars RP I would advise waiting for the third Blades of Retribution (if there will be one, I hope so) and in the mean time reading other RPs to see the standard that is required on these boards.

And Darth Mobius is back. Yay.

Check out my Star Wars: Blades of Retribution Chapter 1 and 2 for an Idea of how in-depth a GOOD Star Wars RP should be. (And for those of you who wonder, I still haven't ruled out Chapter 3, but I may let Emperor Inferno take the lead on that one, as it is his idea...)
Hmm...I may have to bring Maeror back for this...
