So I've just been inspired (mostly by Extra Credits, actually) to just get hold of a game creating piece of software and have a random fuckabout with in my spare time.
My friend, who is of a similar hobby (the one who turned me onto Mario Builder and various Pokemon mods that I messed with briefly) recommended to my RPG Maker XP. So I looked it up, intrigued.
Obviously I discovered that VX came out during the time he wasn't paying attention, so he recommended that to me, citing how amazing XP was and that obviously VX would be superior.
Problem is...I don't understand it. It all seems simple enough at first glance, but I dunno how it all works. Looking for tutorials online proved useless cause the only ones I could find that I didn't have to pay for were Youtube videos, and I hate...HATE Youtube tutorials. I really do.
So could anyone here who knows of one possibly link me to a TEXT tutorial for this program. Preferably one that starts, literally, assuming the reader knows absolutely nothing. Because...I do know nothing. I know how to put down Sprites, that's about my lot.
