RPG races

What do you think would be good RPG races, and if they're in a fantasy RPG would they lean towrds combat, magic, stealth, healing, etc. If they're in a Sci-fi would they lean towrds guns, science, psyonic, etc.

A good race in a RPG is the dreaded robot psychopath, with lasers on every square inch of it's roboty steel. It would be a race that leaned more towards ass kickery.

In fantasy I will make a proud reptillian warrior race called the Hork:

As fighters they specialise in strength, speed and cunning. They can heal themselves rapidly and spit burning acidic venom. They also specialise in magic and mix it seamlessly with regular combat. If I was going to create a fantasy race that's what they'd be.

A sci fi race would just be a sci fi version of this.
