I'm in a RPG-ish mood, And I'm looking for an RPG for the Playstation 3, Preferably not a jrpg and without turn-based combat. I can't find a list anywhere, so I'm asking for some recomendations.
How is Folklore? I've been meaning to pick that game up for months.TPiddy said:Wow, I suppose you guys missed the "Playstation 3" part of his note. Oblivion and Fallout are available on PS3 though.... Also, check out:
Folklore
Demon's Souls
Dragon Age: Origins is out soon as well.
I've only seen bits and pieces of it from a friend's machine, but he recommends it as being decent... not on the same playing field as a Fallout 3 per se, but worth putting some time into.SithLibrarian said:How is Folklore? PS3 Fable 2 was 360 only. I would say my recommendation is either Fallout 3 or Valkyria ChroniclesCargando said:Fable II. It is good fun. But for sheer amount of time you can play on it, Oblivion takes the cake.
ok..not trying to be mean or troll-ish here, but by saying no JRPGs or turn-based combat, you are getting rid of about 80-90% of all RPGs, let alone the ones on the PS3VicunaBlue said:I'm in a RPG-ish mood, And I'm looking for an RPG for the Playstation 3, Preferably not a jrpg and without turn-based combat. That's a good point. I was incredibly disappointed with Little Big Planet. Don't get me wrong, the game was kind of fun and building stages did and will keep me occupied for some time to come. However, after all the hype, I was expecting something much more: specifically, a more intuitive creation system (the lack of save state pissed me off). But, I suppose I should still try it because I don't think I've ever heard anything negative about it. That's an achievement in itself.will1182 said:Well, if you listen to all of us saying it's amazing (which it is), you will most likely hate it. No game can live up to the huge reputation that we have built up for it. You will play it and say "This is it?" It's a shame, really.Generator said:I heard somewhere that Demon's Souls is really good if you don't mind the difficulty.
Also, what is the obsession with Fallout 3? Is it really that good? If so, I really need to get around to playing it.
OT: I recommend Oblivion, Fallout 3 and the new Demon's Souls, as said by Generator (I haven't played it, but it got good reviews).
That really would be an ideal world. Now that I think about it, no game I've ever gotten has really lived up to the hype. Kind of sad, really.will1182 said:We need to make a world without hype, where games are announced the day they come out, lol.
