So im bored and i want a new rpg or jrpg . But not any rpg or jrpg one the REQUIRES grinding . Its weird i know , but i like grinding , i find it amusing and a lengthens the game a bit , and i have way too much time on my hands so a grintastic game would be perfect for me .i have every platforme except a ps3 , and rarely do i play pc games. And i already have and beaten the SMT games persona 1 , 3 , 4 and nocturne so dont suggest those.

Also for discussion value . What are some rpgs that had too much grinding for you to enjoy ( this might also give me an idea of what to pick up so win/win ).

You should play Disgaea 1 and 2 on the PS2. They make grind quite fun, and it's pretty funny to boot.

Xenogears (PS1).

The combat is fun and engaging, and there are multiple things to grind (both level and combos).

Sounds interesting , is it the kinda of game that i would okay be able to buy over the internet? Or are there physical copies that i would be able to find in North America?

You could play the Third Age.

Rather than the simple kill stuff for XP, it's more of an ability grindathon.
That is, each character has 2 skill sets and you gain exp in them by preforming an action of said skill set and unlock the more powerful skills.
Therefore, if you're ever using the vanilla melee attack, you're doing it wrong.

Then again, by the time your Elf Cleric gains Aura of the Valar, Power of the Valar and Frenzy, the game practically becomes impossible to lose.

Final Fantasy XII requires about one hour of grinding for each hour of story advancement, give or take. And it's LONG.

Disgaea (PS2, PSP) - If you considered P4 to be grindy, this will keep you occupied for a long time.

The games in this series are actually designed to support grind-focused players (moreso than other NIS titles, even), so you get an enormous amount of content to unlock and some utterly ridiculous stats later in the game.

Every SMT game ever, except the Persona series which is pretty toned down in that aspect (still more "grindy" than your average RPG though).
SMT basically lives off high encounter rates, ridiculously large dungeons and hard bosses.

Edit: Whoops, looks like I didn't read the OP well enough...
Well, there's also the Etrian Odyssey series and the Phantasy star series, especially I and II as well as Online - an MMORPG - are pretty grind-heavy.

wait... 'rpgs' OR 'jrpgs'? My friend, the terms are not separated like that. 'JRPGs' are still RPGs. Do you mean 'WRPG' or 'JRPG'? If so, why not just say 'RPG'?
Rant aside... Any Dragon Quest game. VIII or IX, preferably, for maximum grindiness.
I'll explaine why ( every good rant deserves another right?) Jrpg are rpgs from japan , Wrpgs are rpgs from the west (western rpgs ). Now as i do know theres no term called eastern rpgs ( why is that ? ) but theres an entire continent between the western land ( Americas ) and japan . :)

And i will most likely pick you up on your offer for dragon quest . Thanks for the suggestion.

Thanks for the post , im played all the final fantasies ( the main ones anyways ) , and i didnt find 12 to be that bad, its the only final fantasy that i got all my characters to lvl 99 lol . I completed that game 100% ( due to the strategy guide ) and even beat the boss with 50 million hp .( That was a fun battle , i dont think i ever had so much fun with a FF game in my life lol )

All RPGs require grinding with the possible exceptions of: FF12 because if you do any side quests the main game becomes a cake walk. And Chrono Cross, where you level up based on boss battles, and only get negligible exp from normal mobs.

The game I've played with the most fun grind is Final Fantasy Tactics. That game's on virtually every single platform you could ever imagine (even iOS now) so it's not exactly hard to find.

It's got a learning curve like running head first into a spike wall, but once you figure all the tricks (which is a good part of the fun) it's very smooth and any grind can be ignored as being one of the most fun things in the whole game. The grind is also variable. If you don't like grinding it doesn't take a lot of effort to beat the game, but if you do you can make your characters virtually indestructible.

Obvious answers incoming.

Final Fantasy Series.
Pokemon Series.

Also, Breath of Death V (or some such) and C'thulu Saves the World. Both of which are available for $2.99 USD on steam (both, not each. Both for under $3.00)

Other than those I can't help much.

Lost Odyssey kind of has a grindathon, though it's interesting in that it basically caps off depending on where you are in the game, just so boss encounters stay challenging. At least until Disc 4, where everything opens up and the game becomes about the level grind.

Not to mention the game has an incredible story that made me cry on several occasions. I'm a Russian, it's my job NOT to cry at stuff like that.

it's doujin, so i'm pretty sure noone would fault you for downloading it somewhere. i won't be providing a link though, just in case you would be faulted. hard to say on this sight.

if you really want to buy it though, you can do so here [http://www.geocities.jp/aaa_3peso/].

and either way you get it, get the 'special disk' version, and use this [http://www.mediafire.com/?5xghaxevcm0m1t5] english patch on it if needed.

Type MMORPG into google and then just throw a dart at the screen, there you go, hopefully you hit a free one... cuz you will need the money for a new screen.

IF you want a 'wtf, screw this, I need a bloody GAMESHARK to make the grind bearable' JRPG...
Try 'Digital Devil Saga 1/2'.

No, seriously.

I used to not care about grind back then...but this game...bloody hell!
2X EXP w/a GameShark - AT LEAST...
