I would like to know what are some good games that have Risk Style maps? Obviously Total War series, Endless Legend, Command and Conquer have this style of maps. I would like to know what are some other games that have this feature?

I'm guessing you mean a larger world map that you can send your armies to attack other countries or other locations before managing it on the smaller scale.

That said, on the one hand, Endless Legend is technically a 4X game, not an RTS. Many 4X games have a similar kind of playstyle though, such as Endless Space and the Civilization games.

Off the top of my head, there are two RTS games I can think of that have what you're asking about. Star Wars: Empire at War is several years old by now, but the Galactic Conquest mode has exactly what you're looking for, giving you the ability to conquer the galaxy system by system. And while I haven't played it, I believe Divinity: Dragon Commander has another similar kind of thing.

Well, the Dark Crusade and Soulstorm expansions for the first Dawn of War had something to that effect for the campaign. Maps were divided up into different territories, each with their own special bonuses and rewards for conquering them. Your ultimate goal was to defeat the other factions by storming their HQ territory. Just be prepared for atrocious lore and meme-tastic dialogue for Soulstorm ("SPESS MEHREENS," "METAL BAWKSES" and "100 BANEBLADES" all had their origins here).

If Star Wars is more your thing there's Empire at War like Chessrook44 mentioned. It's made by a bunch of former C&C devs, and the community has made lots of great mods for it over the years. There's also Star Wars: Rebellion, but your mileage may vary with that one. It's more in the style of a grand strategy game, with a focus on espionage and diplomacy instead of combat. 95% of the game's content takes place in various pop-up menus that are clunky and unintuitive. The AI is rather dim as well, even on the highest difficulty setting. Still, if you manage to look past its shortcomings you may be pleasantly surprised. After all, what other Star Wars game gives you the option to build multiple Death Stars or train Chewbacca as a Jedi?

Sins of a solar empire - One of the best RTS games . More focused on decision making and planning forward than battle tactics . Its kind of a 4x game . A very well made and polished game . One of the best 4x strategy games out there . It works on even the lowest end PCs (even integrated chipsets !) and still manages to look great . The scale of this game is huge . The game starts with small battles and eventually become so grand and epic that they even added a cinematic mode to view them . Its the game Star Wars empire at war could have been and there's even a Star Wars mod for it and a Mass effect mod too . There is one thing to consider here that there is no story mode.... Select a map type and start playing.... Just like Civilizations.

Here's the trailer :

Total War is one of the few grand strategy games to have the Real Time battle mode. As others have said, Dawn of War Soulstorm and Dark Crusade had campaign maps, as did Empire at War (Although the ground battles in it are pretty terrible).

Crusader Kings 2, Europa Universalis IV, Victoria 2.

Best games ever made. Well, I hear Hearts of Iron is better, but it's too complex for me. The others, particularly Victoria 2, are damn near perfect in my book.

Look up King Arthur - The Roleplaying Wargame. Imagine a fantasy Total War game with pronounced RPG elements and even choose-your-own-adventure-book sections. It's pretty interesting.

Rise of Nations had "Conquer the World" mode where you invade countries one by one in an order of your choosing. All your border territories are vulnerable and you unlock cards to play on the world map view before each skirmish.

The more fun but less deep sequel, Rise of Legends, structured its campaign this way, but the campaign is so linear it hardly matters.

If you like LotR, Battle for Middle-Earth (2) might be your thing. It has powerful hero units, which I like, but might turn of some interested in purer RTS experience. You do get to swarm the Shire with thousands of ork, though.

Company of Heroes 2: Ardennes Assault is structured this way. After you play a mission to introduce you to each of your three companies the game lets you move them around a map of the region, choosing which territory to attack. When you defeat an enemy force its remnants will try to retreat to other enemy-controlled zones and reinforce them, unless you manage to encircle that zone with your other companies so that they're boxed in.

It's a pretty fun campaign, albeit fairly short and sometimes punishingly difficult if you're unfamiliar with the game's mechanics (unless you have access to Fox Company; Army Rangers are crazy overpowered against pretty much every target).

Universe at War: Earth Assault had a Global Domination mode, however, since UaW:EA was pretty panned (Despite that, I did enjoy it quite a bit.), not particularly sure how you'd feel about this one.
Each of the 3 Factions controlls regions on the map, building structures to enable them to build new units, collect more resources, research new technology in Tactical Combat, and clear regions with Ultimate Weapons. You are given command of 3 Hero Units who may have a squad of units at their command, 1 of those Heroes is a Stealth Hero. You may build Add-ons for your Global Structures that will even take effect during Tactical Combat. When you choose to attack an enemy region, you enter into Tactical Combat where the game plays out like a regular RTS, but you get to choose where your forces land on the map, whereas your opponent has a set location with a Command Center already built, plus any additional units that may be stationed at the base.

Command and Conquer 3: Kane's Wrath has this mode, too, except each of the 3 Factions have their own specific goals to accomplish.
Scrin need to build 7 Threshold Towers, Nod needs to have a certain number of cities at Maximum Unrest, and GDI needs to control 1/3 of the map.
Build Bases, attack the enemy in Tactical Combat, and lead your faction to its specific victory (Or just flat-out wreck everyone, that works too.)

I don't like HOI3, actually. It is impossible to sandbox. It maintains uncanny historical accuracy in a good 90% of playthroughs. They said they'll be making HOI4 much more sandbox-y, so I await that with baited breath.

But yeah, I started with civ, moved to total war, and now sink all of my time into the paradox grand strategies (EU4 is the best in my opinion, though it is rather streamlined, which can be good for new players.) and cheating is really fucking fun.

That's like saying the Mustang isn't a car, it's a Ford; RTS is an alternative to TBS. 4X is an attribute, not a genre.

hmmm if you want something a bit more realistic there are the close combat games which focus on specific campaigns of world war 2 like operation market garden, normandy, battle for caen, etc which have a risk style map and rts style battles between battlegroups

fear my tiger tank yankee!

I agree on the Paradox Interactive games. One game not mentioned yet is Imperial Glory. It plays similar like Empire Total War, but less refined if you ask me. Yet, it's a title you might be interested in.

Emperor Battle For Dune has a similar campaign mode as well.

Rise of Nations or the later Empire Earth installments(not that good). Battle For Middle Earth 2.
