They used "stereoscopic" and "3D" in the same sentence. They must know these are mutually exclusive concepts, so it's not a case of "it's stereoscopic, but we're calling it 3D because we know the majority of people are too dumb to know what stereoscopy is".

I want 3D for single player, because I think it will be more immersive.
I don't for multiplayer, it will be harder to spot targets.

While I'm not against 3D in computer games (even if I think the techs still a little too young for it at the moment) I do think that both Sony and Microsoft need to focus more and creating a new console than upgrading to 3D for the moment. The 360 and PS3 are using tech thats at least 6-7 years old right now... Which I think is probably holding back consoles and I think we're starting to reach our limit with what can be done with them. Need to be thinking about the next gen.
I really hope Microsoft doesn't waste money on this, and I really hope the don't release a new model like they did last year. I haven't even got that one yet -_-
Plus, how many people honestly have 3D tv's? I don't really think they've caught on yet. I hope this 3D phase starts to fade away. Yes, it was cool at first, and it's kind of cool now, but it's gotten old now. However I would gladly take a 360 with 3D capabilities over a new console any day. I'd like the current generation last a bit longer.

enough with 3d. 3d is not that great. i dare to call it a gimmick. come back when you can make game using holograms because that is the only form of 3d that remotely interests me. that goes for any one who wants to use 3d in games

But to defend Blu-Ray for gaming, is that it holds more. Wich is very handy. Take FF13, 1 disc on PS3, 2(3?) discs on X-Box.
Needing to stop a game and insert another disc is deffinately damaging for immersion.
I couldnt care less about 3D how about a new 360 with power to match the PS3 and BluRay now that Id might buy.
I prefer the 360 to the ps3 but its showing its age it doesnt need to be a next gen upgrade just some minor improvements should be considering its age.

I don't like 3D as it just makes me violently throw my intestines out my mouth. I don't know how they are going to do personally, I mean Nintendo did it with the 3DS because it's a small screen but for a console...(Silly glasses :/ )

Really? I mean why bring 3d onto a console when 3d in itself is such a useless gimmick? Are they going to tell 360 users that they have to pay another 120 for 3D? I have a 360 and no I didn't buy the crap that was kinect. Is it just me or is 3D annoying? Imagine you're in a game and things just start "flying" toward you. yes I said "flying" with quotations in the sense of clash of the titans 3D. It gets pretty annoying having to see a screen dark red and blue while you can't make out objects on screen. Anyone else thinking like me?

That's why La Noire comes on 1 Blu-Ray for PS3, and 3x DVD for the Xbox, and the Xbox has lower textures and less missions. It's now effictively a end-of-life console that's being left behind.
Well... I've got to say that on your reply I only see fan boy rambling...
1) What is proper 3D? You fail to describe what you understand as "proper" and why only ps3 has it...
2) La Noire does indeed come in 3 disks instead of one. I fail to see where that's such a big deals and fail even harder to understand how does that relate to 3D...
3) Yes, LA Noire has lower gaphical quality on the xbox360. It has some frame rate issues and some textures are in lower resolution (to compensate for even worse frame lag I suppose). But again I fail to understand how does that impact 3D in any way...
Also (and this is the important part) Black Ops, Modern Warfare, Assasins Creed (1 and 2), Need for Speed Pro Street, GTA IV, Red Dead Redemption, Bayonetta, amongst many (many) others have worse graphics on PS3 then XBOX360... Does that mean that the PS3 is also close to the end of it's life cycle?
I asked a question out of curiosity and not out of fanboyism... If you take time to reply I would appreciate if you would answer my question and avoid embarrassing yourself with your half-baked fanboy attitude... Which doesn't mean you can't be annoying like you just were... I'm just saying I'd appreciate if you could be informative while you're at it...
