And now I'm just pissed. More DLC, when they haven't fixed the DLC that exists, or kept their promise of supporting all three systems. Release that shit on PS3, Bethesda. Just fucking do it.

Riding dragons would be great, and it makes sense as a full DLC if another antagonist that could feasibly fight the Dragonborn it seems like another Dragonborn would make sense.

Or it could just be an expansion of the Dragonborn's abilities or a journey to acquire said abilities.

Yeah, doesn't sound convincing to me. Just sounds like whoever started the rumour has a raging stiffy for Morrowind.
Riding dragons does sound like it'd be cool though.

Mounting dragons sounds good to me. Horses are remarkably slow for the sheer size of Skyrim, but I wager a Dragon could get me from Markath to Winterhold in under 5 minutes.

So I assume the dragons I've been killing for the majority of the game are going to put all the "ugliness" aside and let me ride them of their own free will?

Yep, seems legit.

True, but then the issue is all the free-form shit going on below you.
Named-NPCs dying and unique encounters going unnoticed as you fly speedily overhead. It really is counter-intuitive to the nature of the AI encounters in the game, but I would still love to do it... sadly, after milking the entire game dry of content so that I don't accidentally spring something and end up missing it, or flat-out ruining my chance at it later.

Mount Dragons? Awww, sweet! I can't wait to... - Oh. Like transportation. That's the less good type of mounting.

Doesn't really matter to me though, I got Skyrim on the PS3 and we're still waiting for Dawnguard and I'm too knee-deep in Minecraft, Oblivion and BlazBlue for me to care about Skyrim DLC anyway.

I swear Bethesda is just looking at popular mods and trying to make people pay for their version...
To be fair though, isn't riding a dragon what everyone has wanted to do since even before the game was released? I don't doubt that the company monitors what mods are popular, and perhaps even uses them as proof of concept for retail DLC, but the idea of flying on a dragon isn't exactly original all on its own.
fuck flying on a dragon, gimme a perfected way to TURN INTO a dragon. THEN I'll care about skyrim mods/DLC

seirusly, lemme turn into a dragon and lemme burn a village or 7 to then i'll be impressed

Well dragon-riding's an improvement on the Real Estate DLC, but still... Oh dears. It'd be nice if they slowed down + tried to patch out the earlier content, Dawnguard had more bugs than a Wasps' nest.

I don't think there is much risk of this. The interior of the towns and hence the population of the towns don't even load up unless you click on the entry doors. This has been shown via no-clipping past the walls.

It appears everything from the GameJam will indeed be in game.

Not everything happens within town walls, plenty of named NPCs hanging out in front of caves or forts, just waiting to be swarmed by the army of Forsworn you've been trailing behind you since you flew over Markarth. My main point is the triggers for unique encounters (which ALL happen outdoors) while flying over them, thusly missing out on them completely.

Mounting dragons?

So it's going to be leading up to the birth of the next dragonborn?

EDIT: Okay but seriously, I thought Skyrim would be a game where dragons are fearsome. I mean it's bad enough seeing them more often than you see mudcrabs, but what makes it worse is that my horse managed to kill an elder dragon (i'm on highest difficulty) and now they let you turn a dragon into your *****?
In the immortal words of a facebook commenter:

"when I read MOUNT a dragon... I got confused, scared, and a wee bit aroused."

Captcha: shoot through - That seems relevant if you catch my drift.

There is also code suggesting that the Daedric Prine of Forbidden Knowledge, Herma-Mora, will make an appearance, and indeed we might go to his realm.

transcribed from here
https://forums.bethsoft.com/topic/1417456-18-beta-update-solsthiem-dlc-hints-thread-10/
Gameplay Additions :

Spears
Dragon Riding
Mounted Magic
"Boat Riding"
Use of some spells and shouts while Dragon riding
Tree and ground ambushes

New armor types :

Chitin, Bonemold, Nordic, Stalhrim, all being both light and heavy

New places:
Places on Solstheim, namely standing stones, Castle Karstaag, Raven Rock
A Telvanni Tower
Some place called "Miraak Temple"
The repeated mention of something "Benthic" suggests some (deep) underwater area
Apocrypha

New creatures:

A "Benthic Lurker"
Some daedric creature related to HM (Hermaeus Mora or Herma-Mora?)
Scribs (and thus probably Kwamas?)
Netches
Rieklins
Boars
Dwemer Ballistae
Something with tentacles
(Since there are light chitin armors, I wouldn't be astonished if the Shalk came back)

Something involving a heart ripped off. (Something related to Briarheartss maybe? Or to Pelinal? Or something Lorkhan-esque)

The DLC title is presumed to be "Dragonborn".

As Bigbossbalrog said, the mention of a Chieftain hints at a return of the Skaals.
