I have a feeling that any series produced will become a bomb. Of the variety that you can't get rid of on certain arbitarily selected days.

I watched a couple of episodes of Smallville. Afterwards I thought "Superman's ass isn't made of steel, cause he just got raped."

Lets hope Batman is wearing an Adamantium chastity belt if his new series comes around.

Yep. As soon as I looked at the source and saw «Comic Book Movie», I thought the same. Their «scoops» aren´t the most reliable...

Leave Nolan and "his franchise perfections" alone for fucks sake. Don't spoil his awesomeness with some stupid Inception sequel or a TV Batman series.

Doesn't NBC have a caped crusader show coming in the winter? It's actually looked interesting, better than the Green Lantern movie.

I don't see why people hated the campy 60's Batman.
What the hell does "campy" even mean?! I've been hearing that word for years now and dictionary.com failed me!

Step up the Bruce Wayne game. I have yet to see a single piece of Batman media that explores Bruce Wayne or makes him as compelling a character as Bats himself. Yeah yeah yeah, 'batman IS the real Bruce Wayne', 'Bruce Wayne is an artifice'...bullshit. It's lazy writing, and there's a hell of a lot not being explored as to how a corporate juggernaut could help to fight crime in a strictly financial/PR sense.

(Anti-hero philanthropy...anti-philanthropy?)

Something like that would be great for television as well, as it would allow for the big city-stories Gotham deserves, as well as letting the director not spend all his time shooting a dude punching other dudes -- because let's face it, no superhero TV show is ever going to be as visually interesting or kinetic within budget as an animated version could.

I'll tell you what they REALLY need to do is get with AMC or HBO and do some good, classy television. AMC we'd get a complex character drama, and the network would draw a lot of new viewers to the fantastic block of TV its been building the past few years--I'm willing to bet there are a lot of potential Breaking Bad fans among the batman sect. HBO we'd get The Wire in Gotham, and HBO gets to market to the nerd/gamer demographic, which it's never really been able to appeal to before. Either way, it's a win-win for viewers.

You lost me at "inspired by the success of shows like Smallville and wants to do something similar with Batman." Really? if i'm not mistaken, Smallville was a three year long origin story/teen drama right? is that REALLY what you want to do with Batman?
You are indeed mistaken. It was an eight-year-long teen drama and a two-year-long origin story. Seasons 9 and 10 being the only ones with any actual semblance of a Clark Kent who could conceivably become Superman.

Well Thank you for the correction (i only watched like 6 or 7 episodes of it) but my point still stands. 'is that REALLY what [they] want to do with Batman'!

Y'know what...here's my take on this:

1) I'm the biggest anti-Superman fan i know...my highschool best friend (who is the epitome of a fan for the son-of-krypton's)...made me sit down and watch a show of it with the promise that "if you keep an open mind, and afterwards hate it, i'll never mention it again"...thinkin' i had nothin' to lose i did as she asked...fast forward 10 years later, i've watched every episode, while she stopped sometime around season 4...

Maybe i wasn't the target audience here, but i enjoyed the show..still do...in fact, i own every season on dvd....so what does that say about me?

2) One of the biggest reasons my bud and me didn't get alone she (for lack of a better way to describe it) was full-bloodedly wavin' the "Team-Superman" flag, while i tended to hide in the shadows as a full blooded Gothamite (translation: Batman is my #1).....

3) Would i love to see Batman on tv again? (other than my various movie dvd's (i own all 5..Burton-Nolan...yes, even the Schumacher ones (my opinion of that is a story for another time)), HELL YES!!!!!! Would i like it to be a weekly show so i can tune in 4 more times a month (as opposed to the twice a month through the comics)? ABSO-F*CKING-LUTELY!!!!

So in a nutshell....i'm all for it.....take it, leave it, that's my thoughts....

but then again....what do i know? I'm a cab driver for gosh-shakes ;)

Knowing Batman, and the high writing and special effects he would require and knowing the low writing and special effects from live action Primetime TV shows, I wouldn't look forward to a live action serious Batman show.

Since police procedural dramas have always been popular though, I think WB should look into a Gotham Central TV series. I would give my left arm to see a faithful adaptation of that. And to think it was actually optioned by TV execs but didn't come through due to to gawdawful Birds of Prey.
