Well, I hope that they don't try and make co-op scary... FEAR 3 showed us exactly how that fails.

"Hey look a jump sca- HEY DAVE! REVIVE ME!"

And I suppose cover is... Ugh, not in Dead Space kthx. Come on the fact that enemy soldiers could rip you to pieces in the endgame was awesome.

It might be good, if they reallllly try. I suppose it's the same team who made DS2 right? So they should be able to pull something off...

Now, we need a Co-op Eye Poke Machine

"I'm trusting you not to kill me here Dav- oh fuck you

"Ooops finger slipped" /trollface.jpg

And there's always Frictional, damn love those guys. Console port for the next Amnesia kthx?

Cover? Human adversaries? Co-op?

...That's the end of the good Dead Space titles, I guess.

Big word in this title...Rumours.

I'll wait till EA actually releases information. Although having said that, with the way they have been recently that probably wont change anyones mind :')

Please refer to Yahtzee's review of F3AR.

Besides I never found Dead Space to be scary except for when in the middle of the 'Aliens' setting I got attacked by something from a hentai movie!

Okay, taking this piece bye piece:

Co op? Yes please! I love co op. Just played one of Uncharted 3's co op adventures last night with a friend. It was a blast and we both felt like the main game should have been that way too. So yes on the co op.

Set on a planet now? With snow? Hm...the planet idea sounds interesting, but the snow better not be too deep. Isaac with not be able to move in that armor if it is. Plenty of Necromorph hiding spots though, even out in the open.

Changes to the plasma cutter? Oh dear. I knew I wasn't the only one who favored that weapon. We'll still get the pulse rifle though, right?

Cover? NO! No cover. The last thing I need is to be running for my life and suddenly have Isaac slip into cover because I ran too close to a conveniently placed wall.

Heavily armed human enemies? Makes sense, seeing as Isaac is now a wanted dead man in Earth's territory. I wonder if they'll be like a special black ops unit dispatched to clean up the whole mess and just happen to run into Isaac, or if they're after him directly.

Co-op? Bring it on!

Changes to Plasma Cutter? I hope this is a minor change, I really hope that's not "We changed all guns into the standard "Pistol, Shotgun, Assault Rifle" of other FPSs"" or "We got rid of dismemberment combat".

Human Enemies? Done right it could be neat. So long as Necromorphs are present and extremely dangerous. So long as human enemies are well-suited to the universe. So long as it's not turned into a CoD style "shoot many random mooks".

Cover? Oh no, no no no no. WHY? Dead Space is about melee Necromorphs, standing out in the open and being precise with your shots. Cover is antithetical to all of that.

This may be one of the most depressing things I've ever read on this site. Co-op in the main campaign? Cover-based shooting? Human enemies? If these rumors are true, it would appear that what I'd have once considered one of my favourite franchises is now dead to me. It's like everything I loved about the series - the fact that it's a single-player, non-cover-based third person shooter, with a protagonist who isn't a psychotic murderer and whose few direct human killings actually had weight and significance - and specifically knuckled down to ruin it all. Why not just take out the inventory and upgrade system, and throw in regenerating health and a two weapon limit while they're at it, just make sure they didn't miss anything else that was good about Dead Space.

Guess I'll just have to wait until E3 to see if any of this is real, and if it is... *Sigh* Disappointing. Just... Disappointing.

I'm not against the idea of co-op, really, in any shooters, not really a point not to tack-on co-op.
Building the game as co-op ruins thing by forcing singleplayers to have retard AI buddys, tacked on co-op is the exact same thing, but with a buddy.
And I'm all for that.
