I call bullshit until I see an official announcement. This damn rumor of a PSP2 always pops up whenever a new model of the PSP comes around. Even if it is announced some time late this year, I doubt it wont be released for another 2 or 3 years.

This is why the PSP fails on every level. Making a handheld as powerful as a console is completely unnecessary, and proves Sony doesn't understand the appeal of the medium.

Because 50 million units sold is a failure. Because having a substantial multi-media device that's mildly successful is a failure. Because just being able to survive against Nintendo for the past four years against fuck-mothering Nintendo, that's undeniably the king of the handhelds (seriously, they are), is a failure.

Not to mention that this is only a god damn RUMOR. Where does it say anywhere that this is confirmed or that this has any truth in any sense of the word?

Okay, I admit I overstated my first statement. It doesn't fail on every level. In fact, I mentioned in another thread that I wanted a PSP for some of the games it offers. However, I do still stand by my feeling that Sony doesn't discern a difference between handheld gaming and console gaming. Where Nintendo tries to offer convenience (and admittedly, doesn't do a fantastic job) Sony tries to offer power. I applaud them for trying to find a niche in the market, but it's asking a lot of developers to make a graphics and detail intensive game for a 4 inch screen.
