Some people thought I was a mute. It was just that I never liked talking. I even got nicknamed "Silent Bob" one time.

My friends think it's fun to tell others who haven't met me or spoken much to me that I am basically a stereotypical member of the British Old Guard: that is to say, a racist, sexist, elitist git, with initially-disarming affable charm. It doesn't particularly help me when they hear that I'm posh.

Yes, I had rumours spread about me in the past, but I forget what they are, I just remember being hounded about them, vaguely.

I did when I was younger. I used to be rather disproportionate, in regard to my chest-to-rest of my body ratio. People spread the rumor that I stuffed my bra. It was completely untrue and really hurt my feelings when it got back to me. I know it doesn't seem like a big deal, but to me it seemed like a form of lying, and the thought that people I liked and respected might think that of me broke my heart. When I was 17, I got reduction surgery because of back problems and because I was a competitive runner and dancer, and I guess the rumors stopped?

As a result, though, I never start or spread rumors. It's mean and hurtful, and there's no good reason to do it. If I have an issue with someone, I take it up with them rather than go behind their back.

Not enough people recognize me to start rumors.
^^The opposite of this ^^

When you are in a small town, rumors fly like bullets regardless of who are. If you live an honest, polite lifestyle, most of the rumors fall apart. That was my experience anyway.

well, first there were the rumors about me being gay, just cuz i hung out with a gay guy, apparently its some sort or contagious disease. then there were the rumors that i was a psycho who was gonna shoot up the school, because i hardly ever talked to anybody who wasn't my friend and because i wore a leather jacket, it wasn't even a trench coat! that rumor was mostly funny to me... till the faculty heard it and i was forced to see the schools councilor a few time before i hammered it into his head that i was fine and wouldn't hurt people.

but that was back in highschool, like 6 years ago, the only rumor going on about me now is about the size of my *ahem* phallus, though its more of an inside joke among my friends than a rumor nowadays. did you know i jizz rainbows and miniature unicorns? cuz thats what they tell me.

I don't think so. I'm just one of those "extras" in the background, the ones whom everyone gets on with, has a bunch of friends who get up to shenanigans, but generally, in the great, badly-written Soap Opera that is School, I have no plot thread

I got into a fight once and, being a haemophiliac, I bled like a ***** after cutting my head open. Rumour spread and the poor kid (this was years ago) thought I'd died.

That's about it, though with the fresh crop of sixth formers there's a group of girls who laugh whenever I walk by. I wonder what's going on there...

Erm... Ghod many...

The one I was most traumatized about was when I was around 14, and I'd been texting some guy from a different school who I'd only met once briefly, and I was best friends with one of his friends. Some how, from some where a rumour started that I'd given him a blowjob despite never actually meeting him properly, and his friends started following me from school to my bus stop and shouting things at me, and I had to change how I got home. :/

One just really annoying one was around 15, the "popular girls" (I went to an all girls school) decided to make a tally and list of how far people had gone with boys and were ranking classes and groups of friends on sluttyness (they won that one), and they asked me how far I'd gone. Since i didn't want to partake in their survey, and they weren't my friends I replied along the lines of "It's none of your business" and the next thing I knew I was apparantly a downright whore... Which couldn't be further from the truth.

Ahhh Christ, here we go again...

Back at my high school, I was on the receiving end of rumours that I was gay. They both pissed me off and saddened me, because I'm anything but (and if anything, I'm probably one of the very few here who can make a claim for asexuality).

Didn't really help that I have high-level Asperger's Syndrome either (basically, I'm EXTREMELY timid and a complete loner, among other things). I was different from the pack and everyone knew it.[footnote]Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know. I keep bringing it up. But I felt that it was relevant to the post.[/footnote]

I'm in a band. A concert band. It's like an orchestra, minus strings. Anyway, these sorts of organizations always have politics and drama. They just do.

The latest rumour from mine? I'm fucking the band president. (He's 25 years my senior. And married.)
