Welcome man! Try DDO and Knight Online instead, both free and more fun and don't look 15 years old.

Quests quests quests.

That's the good chunk of meat in Runescape.

Those tricksy quests.

It's alright, I just got back into it so that I may participate in some of the harder quests.

The grinding's boring as batshit, though.

The graphics are terrible. Doom has better graphics as you can actually see some detail. Gotta love the face!

I hope you have a bullshit fun time there.

Welcome to The Escapist!

Look, if you have have HAVE to play a MMO, just spend the 15 bucks, and try WoW for a month, i hate the fact im pushing this game on people, but it will hold you over untel Old Republic.
Hmm, I dislike this. I think if you were to suggest an online RPG, it should be 'runes of magic' it's just like WoW (actually, it has slightly better graphics if that's what turns you on), but it's completely free. A bit of a download, but once that's done, you never ever have to pay. This is good, because I refuse to keep paying for a game I own.

runescape is pretty boring.
it starts out okay you'll have a few weeks fun, than p2p is fun for like 2 weeks.
it gets repetitive very quickly.

I do have to say not everyone on there is 13 years-old << there's a great age variety among players and there's actually a lot of fun people around. besides, most people on online games are asses anyway.

and the details have been GREATlY improved over the last year or so.

It's not a good game if you want to spend hours and hours of time playing. but it is good for the bored 15 minutes when you don't have enough time to do something usefull =P

It's fun, pretty inhospitable in the begining but as it grows on you you'll be stuck, I play it almost daily and i think it's fun as hell after about 7 year(with some MAJOR breaks in between).

And welcome to the escapist!

Having played it on and off majorly for about 9 years (back when there was nothing past varrock) I cant give really give it the "It's Bullshit" bandwagon that most people jump on, as previously said the mechanisms are sound while majoritivly the skills are just Time Grinds its really about the personal choice of what you want to grind on or increase to do something else.

The quests are much more intresting than regular MMOs as you can prolong them or simply complete at your own pace, although sometimes tedious with collecting random items for quests most are intresting and some offer well thought out rewards.

The combat has evolved alot but still it not the most intresting you will find, runescape is more suited for players who are looking for a personal acheivement in your own experience type of gameplay.

And like many stated it is not entirely filled with 13yr olds, but if you are going to join i would advise members as has been mentioned ;)

I used to enjoy RuneScape, got a membership and everything.

Scammers are incredibly prevalent though, as are assholes... though you do get pleasant people as well, especially if your pleasant to others :).
