Anybody on the site play? If you do, give me your username! My u/n is Scipios Fist

ON a seperate note, what don't you like about runescape? Tell me what and why

I myself hate the new PVP system, and how you automatically get skulled when you hit a pvp world, I believe you should be able to wait for people to attack you and destroy them.

I stopped playing Runescape years ago...
Maybe I should log on and see what is happening...
But I may get addicted again...
And this time, ISW isn't there to stop me by taking my attention...
Damn, why do the good games die young? D:

Runescape has been going down hill ever since the Grand Exchange was introduced and it's showing no signs of improving

If there was ever a game that showed how to somehow addict millions of people by having them grind in a similar manner a bunch of ultimately superfluous skills a thousand times over, it would be Runescape.

I got into it, I got scammed out of everything I had, I lost my account, and I haven't ever tried going back, because I now realize- the best you can hope for in a F2P account on Runescape?

Becoming one more of the ugly rune-armor-clad drones which wanders at a ridiculously high level in the Wildy, looking for prey.

Do yourself a favor, drop that shit this second, get some other game that doesn't repeat/time-consume/suck as much. I'd recommend Nodiatis or DDO-online.

I dont play that much any more. Members is by far more fun that free to play, but its too expensive for the small amount of time i spend on the game.

I used to play Runescape back in the day. I gave my account to my little bro a couple of years ago. He never plays it anymore, so I thought i'd go on and see whats what. HE got my account Guthix armour. GUTHIX (3rd most expensive in the game). and like, 3 billion gold. I was proud of him. BUT i still hate Runescape now....

you pretty much described almost every MMO, except they took out the wilderness in RS.
...Wow. Way to stiff the free audience, developers.

Well, at least they don't smother you in donation advertisements like battleon.com does.

RS was the first mmo i ever played :)
- but it way too outdated now, so i play Runes of Magic ;P

P.S. RS is a browser mmo, so don't compare it to games like WoW, GW, or Lotro ;)

am I the only one who actually thought it was reasonably good. Sure the graphics were dodgy, but it gave the game character, I stopped once they removed the wildy though, they went too far that time.

yeesh i forgot the amount of dickishness this brings out.
Yarr i used to play it a few years back, its great for getting new people into gaming and such. If i remember correctly i ended up with a fairly average character with pmod status and a coupla dragon stuff, nothing very special :( i never stick around a single mmo long enough to become a bruiser lol.

Nope. I thought it was pretty good aswell. It was a fairly-decent free game, I thought it looked quite good considering it's techincally a browser game that runs off Java. Find me a game that runs like that and looks better.

The grinding thing is pratically ubiquitous in MMO's so why people ***** about it so heavily in RuneScape is beyond me. I have stopped playing RuneScape due to just not having the time. It's a shame really, decent MMO shunned for no apparent reasons.

The wildy removing thing was just plain......dumb. The Wildy came to be an accepted and enjoyed part of the game and they removed it due to dumb low-level fucks being tricked into going there and getting murdered despite there being a very clear warning sign.

I find it's ok in very small doses. It's suprisingly addictive considering how many flaws it has.

Yeah... I once got my woodcutting from 1 to 60 in 1 week. I now hate everything to do with Runescape and its player base.

I used to play in the early days of my online gaming youth. My friend and I would lead people to the sewers get the zombies to munch on their brains and we would take our ill gotten swag.

I have since moved on and I'm pretty pissed that they want me to pay for any of the new features when I played since the early days before it was even a spec on the radar.

I recently came back to it, but it seems like they're trying harder than ever to get you to become a member. You're constantly reminded of the fact that you're just a F2P scruff so who gives a toss about you and they even force you to read skill level screens listing all the stuff you would be getting now if you were a member every single bloody time you level up a skill. It's not even worth being a member unless you're absolutely obsessed with it, I just fiddle about with it for an hour or two every few weeks, which isn't value for money if you're paying for it.

There is one good thing about it though: the music. Despite the limitations of the MIDI format, the music guys churn out great songs, and you can even put music on a looping playlist. That's pretty much the only thing that improved in the intervening years when I got bored of it. Everything else was just to make it more noob-friendly.

I used to play Runescape, but I got over my addiction to it when I got my Xbox. (Note: not an improvement).
I never was one for PvP (nor all that much PvE for that matter), so I didn't really notice the decline. The GE made it easier for me to sell my fish (I was primarily a fisherman), but it also dropped prices. I had a questcape at one point, but they kept adding new ones.
