The graphics suck, the writing is meant for 6-year-olds, and the leveling is just FUBAR. But I'll give it this: it's an excellent title from a gameplay perspective. Player-driven economy, epic boss fights, fun areas to explore, and overall addictiveness.

I love that game. Always have, always will. I play WoW over it, and rarely play RS anymore, but that game was my first MMO experience. I have a high amount of respect for Runescape, and I will always stand by the opinion that it is a good game.

A friend of mine nagged me until I agreed to try it. Played it for three weeks then dropped it completely. Maybe you have to be a member to get the full experience, but I just couldn't get into it.

Played it for a good 4 or 5 years, had a 126 and a 117 or something like that, don't know passes for either now. It really is a POS game, especially after the removal of the wild. Friends are the only thing that kept me playing for so long.

Anyone who says that Runescape sucks compared to WoW, Guild Wars, LotRO, or any other online game fails because you can't compare them.
For example: WoW is a game that is a couple of Gigabytes big, has been made by a huge company and you have to pay per month... and what is Runescape? - a browser mmo made by a pretty small company and at least the half of it is completely free to play.

So... you really can't say that Runescape sucks because the developers did a pretty amazing job in making such a large game, which is freely playable in a browser.

I played for about a year total on and off. Loved it. Then I quit. I checked it out awhile ago, see how things were going. They got rid of the one thing that made RS good - The wild. That untamed wilderness where every venture into it was different. One day you may find a noob in too deep and pwn him, the next you may run into a clan and get destroyed. That not knowing what it had instore for you was great. My clan had a base of operations deep in there where we'd head from and pwn unsuspecting adventurers. Was great. Not really into MMORPGs anymore. I played wow for a few months, got to outland etc but quit that when i got bored. Now i'm more of a console gamer.

Oh yeah and alot of mates from school were on there so we used to team up at times. I was only realy there for PvP tbh

I never said he was not allowed to have an opinion, maybe the way I said it made you think that. He's obviously a fan of WoW and since he was comparing it to one of his favorite games without explination I thought I'd point out that his opinion loses credibility because his avatar shows that he is a fan of WoW.
