RUSE

Hey guys, sorry if a similar thread has been made, but I looked at the recent ones and there was nothing.

I just played the RUSE beta, and found it quite fun online. As I don't play many RTS's, I have nothing to compare it to, so I want some experienced opinions on the game.

It has some interesting design choices, and a bit of a faulty visual style, but as a whole its pretty much an average RTS with an edge. I liked it though.

Actually I was really interested in RUSE until ubisoft decided to implement their new drm in all their games. I would stay away from it unless you don't mind telling publishers that it's okay to screw their customers. That's just my take on it though.

I though that it was okay, nut not great. It's got some interesting ideas, but it doesn't come together as well as I feel it could have.

It's published by Ubisoft. Restrictive DRM ahoy! Even if I were interested, I wouldn't buy it.

The real head-up-the-ass thing here is that Ubisoft already lost millions on a DRM scheme BEFORE, when they used StarForce and decided to take it out of Heroes of Might and Magic V for fear of lost sales.

This. It provides a nice con-artist online game. Doesn't help getting my ass beat every time I try it. Oh, and I just love the zoom out to command center.

I played the demo, looks pretty good. Pity, since I won't be buying it either.
