I don't know what to think about this. I mean, I really hate Rush Limbaugh's pro-right wing politics, and yet here he is defending video games' rights to free speech. One particular thing I'd like to highlight is this gem:

Rush Limbaugh said:
"If you're gonna start saying that video games are raunchy, then how the hell do you leave cable television alone?"
(Apologies if this is posted in the wrong place.)
OK, so in this one particular way, he's not an ass.

Corrected.
Hardy har har. It's not a left/right issue, it's a matter of common sense and the constitution, which unlike certain crazies on the television will have you think, both sides support equally. That is to say, they both take equally giant missteps.
I agree. But he still supports freedom of speech due to his right-wing politics.

Oh shut up, there are plenty of those on the right that wish to censor free speech.

I agree, I never denied that fact. My point was that Rush Limbaugh's politics led him to support video games' rights to free speech.

I don't really know enough about Rush Limbaugh to have an actual opinion on him. I don't pay him enough attention. But nor do I pay any attention to a lot of people with extremist views. Much rather just watch the Daily Show with Jon Stewart.

It's a good rule of thumb to avoid any "news source" with a political agenda. No matter what the politics, they tend to be utter idiots when they decide that the other side is "The Great Satan" and can never be right on anything. This is a major reason that I hate our current political climate in the U.S. And I'm not JUST hating on the Republicans for this.

However, despite however you feel about Limbaugh, you have to admit that in this case he is right. If it bothers you so much, comfort yourself with the fact that even a broken clock is right twice a day.
Did you go to the rally? I was there ^-^ was all kinds of awesome.

Maybe this right here is an example of sanity making a come back. We do agree with something someone on the other side is saying and we build a middle ground where all are safe.

The Rally to Restore Sanity? No... I really would of liked to, but there was no way I would have the money and time to make it to the rally. Did they do anything special?

What did ou expect? Liberals are the ones that like to have the government tell you how to live your life, not republicans.
Yeah that whole CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENT TO BAN GAY MARRIAGE and that IF YOU ARE NOT WITH US YOU ARE WITH THE TERRORISTS bit were soooooooooooooooooo part of the liberal agenda.
Fact: Obama supported the USA PATRIOT Act and approved its renewal.

Fact: Obama has gone on record as saying he thinks marriage should be between a man and a woman and has yet to make any statement as to the constitutionality of states banning it.

Dude, you picked the wrong place to say that. :p[/quote]

Yes, I did. My bad. Stupid, silly me.

On a sidenote: Fact: Obama is not a progressive and has a set of conservative views; for example, those you mentioned...among others. Just because he's not a conservative does not mean he is the poster child of liberalism, no matter how hard the most extremist and loud sectors of the conservative movement make it seem. He just isn't.

It was fun and the atmosphere of the crowd was excellent and the signs and costumes were fun to.
But as for guests how does the Mythbusters, Cat Stephens, Ozzy Osbourn, and Roots sound for special.

That's wrong! There's no cause/effect relationship between right or left wingers and freedom of speech cases. The one network that's come down hardest on video game free speech in that they've been making up ridiculous stories for years about how video games are killing our children is the Conservative network Fox News.

We need someone as influential as Rush Limbaugh on our side. We should take our allies where we can get them...

I've read his opinions and heard his shows and shit, and he isn't nearly as bad or crazy as everyone says he is.

I think that you shouldn't get too exicted to quickly, he could be saying, that LIKE cale tv video games need to be more strictly controlled
wait, how does that make any sense? a super right winger is the whole "the dang gov'ment tellin' me what I can an' cnt' do! well I'll show em'!" farmer with shotgun, so if you were to make fun of rush, even by hyperbole, this would not be the issue for fans of video games to do so.

I'm now politically confused.
do you really thing a republican would let the obama admin get away with restricting free speech on a whole medium.....LOLOLOLOL YEAH RIGHT
The Obama admin did not do this. It's the state of California, specifically Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, a Republican, who is serving as the plaintiff. The Obama administration has had absolutely nothing to do with this.

fox news is neither liberal nor conservative, nay, they have evolved into some dark force that will consume us all.

Jon Stewart's show is democratic...

Which is of course why I enjoy it.
