A Russian man survived after downing three bottles of vodka and leaping from a fifth floor balcony - twice.

Alexei Roskov says he jumped the second time because he couldn't take his wife's nagging about the first time.

Wife Yekaterina had watched in horror as her drunken hubsand opened the kitchen window of their Moscow apartment, and hurled himself out.

Astonishingly Mr Roskov, 22, survived and managed to stagger back upstairs with barely a scratch after the 50ft fall.

But while his wife called for an ambulance and began to scold him, he jumped again.

Amazed medics treated Mr Roskov for minor cuts and bruises before releasing him.

Mr Roskov says he is now teetotal after giving up drinking, and added: "Now I can say just one thing - I was very lucky.

"I have no idea why I jumped the first time but when I came back up and I heard my wife screaming angrily at me I thought it was best if I left the room again - out of the window."

This is... wow this is really old. This was on most of the news sites months ago.

People fall from significant heights all the time, drunk or not, and survive. I always think that there is relatively random proofs of fate - two people falling the same distance might both die, but one might die and one might live too.

And having a nagging woman around would probably drive me to jump too.

Thats amazing... stupid, yet amazing.
I guess he avoided damage by doing a barrel roll

If he had been spetznas he would've done several backflips and thrown hatchets while falling.

Yeh I was looking around for a date on the source website but simply couldn't find it. Decided it would be worth it anyway. I mean, he was so sick of his wife's nagging he jumped again? lol, he musta memorized the way he jumped the first time.

Besides, you rarely WILL hear about the people that fall from heights & die or get seriously hurt, mostly cuz that's expected. People that fall & LIVE are what the media would pay attention to.

Remember kids! Vodka makes you invulnerable to falling from heights!

P.S., I like your beam saber.

Ouch, and that's why I don't drink three bottles of vodka in a row before trying to leave a five story building.

I can remember jumping off the top of an Australian goal post. Face planting the ground while stoned. And lived :) - with a few cracked ribs though.

It's not just me, but it is in memory of those who have lost a child. I've actually taken to using it to represent more than just Mobius and Empyrean's child, but there you go. A bit of history to it. Pleased you like it though.

... I haven't much to say about it except for what I just said in the thread in which the story was told.

Here's to falling from 5 stories!

For those of you too lazy to read the whole article, the man in question is now 93 years old.

Anything to get away from the wife, huh? That's just crazy how he survived.

You watched Deadliest Warrior. Don't try to deny it.

It was awesome.

Couldn't help but be reminded of the Chris Morris thing about the indecisive suicide jumper from 'Jam' when I read about this...

I actually haven't.

I've seen the pics of the "backflip over barbed wire while throwing a hatchet" but i couldn't seem to find the video

These are the pics i'm referring to.

Is deadliest Warrior the documentary where the pics are from, which i couldn't find, or is it a movie?
