As you probably know, the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games are 75% off on Steam during the Summer Sale. I'm thinking about getting them, but the one thing i need to know is:
will they run on Windows 7.
i dont want do buy 3 games that wont run because of my OS. My computer components seem to be up to scratch (i havent gotten round to getting new ones, but its an older game and they need less processing power etc)

I've no issues running CoP and SoC on my system, so that's a 'yes.' And that's a pretty good deal for those games.

I got both Call of Pripyat as well as Clear Sky running on the 64 Bit version of Windows 7. Do you really think games that are as 'obsolete' as 2007 won't run on a space age computer from 2011? I can run any well programmed game on this PC...except Operation:Eastside which was released in 97 and cannot really handle a GForce with more than 12 megabyte.

on the steam store page scroll down and look at the system reqs
(*now that I am looking myself*)
oh I see what you mean.
it will run but maybe you should switch combabilety mode (I'm pretty sure that is the wrong spelling)
that is: right-click the .exe, select propraty's (again wrong spelling), sellect combabilety, sellect the windows OS of your choise.

That's one of the funnier things I've read about STALKER.

I say buy them, but make sure to grab the Complete mods for them so they don't run like ass.

(This is based on my own personal experience, your mileage may vary)
what i was basically saying is any game from before 2008 runs fine, after that and i need to use lower graphics.
also thanks for the mod recommendation. and your profile picture is awesome. and your name.

I haven't tried Shadow of Chernobyl since I got a new pc so I can't speak on personal experience, but a quick google search says that it does work on win7 and I'd assume the newer ones work too.

Oooh sorry about that, a mistake on my part. STALKER runs okay on a machine dated 2008 in terms of parts I think, but Complete adds a ton of graphical enhancements...it does fix a lot of errors of the game though, so turn the fancy stuff off and enjoy one of the most immersive, atmospheric and well-made shooters (excluding massive bugs fixed by loyal fans) with a really unique setting. Great value there for three STALKER games.

Yeah, all 3 games runs just fine on Windows 7 64-bits (i'd assume it does with 32-bits too)
