I dont think it will live up to my expectations. All I did was hit the B button the whole demo.

Oh. You are one of those people. You know, the ones that think the game must entertain you on it's own. Just because you can push the B button the whole time doesn't mean it's any fun. Try, oh, I don't know, varying your playstyle a little?

so that's STFU (starwars the force unleashed- shut the fuck up) and DNF (Duke Nukem Forever- Did Not Finish)... Any other gaming acronyms?

Not that i'm one of "those" people, but I feel that a game controler is too basic to use complex actions like the force, thus I feel lightsaber combat would be more efficient. I have played Star Wars games before, and I could never get the hang of the force. Like how in Force Unleashed, you cant move while moving an object. I think games need to know there limitations rather then try to make it beyond them. Your cant play a shooter game on a higher difficulty by just running around meleeing, but the controls are perfect for the increased complexity of gun combat. On PC RTS games, you have a whole interface bar and hotkeys to do complex commands. In turn-based games, you have plenty of time and menus so you can execute actually what orders you want without presser and screwing up. In other words, if the type of combat that is suppost to sell the game(force in this case) is TOO complex and I spend my time doing the basics, it is not fun. Using basic attacks is not fun. Trying to use overly complex attacks is not fun either. This was a major turn-off from Fable for me. Trying to combine weapon combat with magic on a simple controller is not fun for me.

I was going to do a brief review of the game to tie in with my topic but i decide against it. One point I was going to make was why the chose now to made a badass Apprentice. I felt this is how Anakin should have been portrayed in the prequels instead of a whiny teen one haircut away from being an Emo King.
I do not understand why people give episodes 2-3 a hard time because Anikan is depressed. Noone just turns to the dark side on a whim. They need to have problems, so the dark side looks appealing. Did people anticipate watching the movies expecting him to be the major badass on the light side who out of nowhere joins the darkside? Where would the character development be. Sure, Anikan is a powerful Jedi for his age, but far from badass. He has a reason to join the dark side, or at least a justified misconception.

Darth Vader really lost to the emperor, and Vader wasn't exactly a young man by the time he fights Luke.

heh, i looked at the acronym you used in the title and i was initially offended.

the STFU demo impressed me. it was a little bundle of genuine fun. lifting objects to chuck at people and slashing them to bits was great.

but what killed it was the fight with the AT-AT at the end, when you whittled its life down and were forced to go through that CONTRIVED AS CRAP button mashing sequence to take it out. granted, that was freaking cool, but it happened too quickly and so i messed up the first time. if they want to get it right they need a special button for people who WANT to take out enemies that way so that the player can be ready for it

I liked it. Not much more. If I had the money and there weren't any other games I wanted coming out (Like when summer started) I would have readily picked it up. However, right now I'm saving my money for Fallout 3 and a new PC...

My favorite part was near the end where you could hold people over the edge, drop them and then catch them in the air. Also when people dove behind cover and then you throw the cover at them, that was fun. I'm getting this when it comes out

It not because he depressed, it because he's a whining little pussy who never shuts his mouth and ruins the movie by bitching even more than Luke Skywalker did (god knows how he managed that). Also Hayden Christonson or whatever hsi name is is a terrible actor at BEST. (At worst he's just terrible.)

I just got the demo and played it through. I'll say this: It's a good, fun game, but it's definitely not Jedi Knight 4. i still play jedi academy on a regular basis and the lightsaber combat was the most detailed and skill driven aspect of the game, and here it seems to have been replaced by button mashing. Lots of fun, but it doesn't seem to be a true sequel.

Edit: And for all you guys praising the force grip feature, it is very cool but let's not forget that Psy-Ops did it first.

First thing that came to mind when I saw the thread title: "Shut The Fuck Up? Why haven't I heard of this before?"
