[HEADING=2]SACRIFICE[/HEADING]
[HEADING=3]-PART 7-[/HEADING]

When we last left our incredibly indecisive hero, he had just flip-flopped back to working for the "good" guys, and is now helping Persephone destroy the forbidden demon gate.

You'll no doubt notice that Persephone is the only god Eldred can still work for at this point, everyone else having closed up their doors to him. We'll have some more choice again, later on, though. I guess it doesn't really matter if you post anything. This is really just for the few people who watch this play-through who I imagine will find it anyway, but it you want something to talk about, what's your favourite game genre?

Don't forget to check out the Interactive Play-Through group. [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/groups/view/Interactive-Play-Through]

This is part 7 of my interactive playthrough of Sacrifice. What that means is that, at certain intervals in the story, viewers can vote on my actions; who I work for, who I betray, that sort of thing. If you're interested in the playthrough or would like to make your own, check out my group, linked above.

It's certainly a trip down memory lane, isn't it Vern? Getting close to the end now.

Favorite genre. Hard to say as I change my mind all the time depending on what I feel like. If I had to list them, I guess western RPG's first, followed by shooters, and then strategy games. Sacrifice is one of the first blended genre games out there, or at least an early one, before it was popular to do that I mean.

The RPG elements aren't implemented all that well and are pretty light though. It's a strategy first and foremost, but I still like it. Added a little color when it was still pretty niche to do that kinda thing. Too bad this game only ever got a cult following, it's a good one. (hint hint it's on gog) ;)

And Steam, for all you Valve fanbois.

I gotta say, if there was one developer I could bring back from the dead, it'd be Shiny. Shiny as it once was, making smart, fun, impossibly bizarre games; before Enter the Matrix ruined everything.

I still play from time to time. Imagine if Sacrifice had sequels or expansions? It was such a gem, especially for its time.

Sometimes the best games only get cult followings.

Yup, another casualty of Interplays poor business decisions. That and shutting down Black Isle... I mean, look at the repertoire:
Fallout
Fallout 2
Planescape: Torment
Baldur's Gate
Baldur's Gate: Tales of the Sword Coast
Baldur's Gate II: Shadows of Amn
Baldur's Gate II: Throne of Bhaal

And Shiny's?

Earthworm Jim
Earthworm Jim 2
MDK
Messiah
Sacrifice

HOW DID THESE COMPANIES GO UNDER WITH SUCH QUALITY WORK!?
