Saint's Row 2 Helicopter troubles

In Saint's Row 2, I'm currently on the mission where you have to get Gat back to the saint's hideout without him dying. I make it right above the hideout, Gat's at almost full health, but my helicopter won't descend! I know I'm supposed to hold X, but it does nothing! Gat always ends up dying because the copter won't go down. A little help would be apprieciated.

this happens to me all the time when I'm flying helicopters in co-op mode

Hmm. Are you moving very fast or very slow?
And are you playing this on a 360?

Ok. The only thing I can suggest is stopping dead over the marker then trying as the response of the command is changed by the speed you're travelling.
If that doesn't work, the only other thing I can suggest is changing controller.

Really the easiest way would be to use the cheats that give unlimeted health to you and your vehicles

I don't know, maybe something broke. I never had that problem.
