I have almost 100% complete on that game (story is done completely for instance) and have never once robbed a store >_>

I just end up buying them, far more helpful .

IIRC - holding up the cashier and letting him/her walk you to the safe and open it for you will set the alarm off, but if you rob it at night and do it fast enough, then the alarm won't go off - or you may just get one star only.

Complete all the side stuff you can do, you'll be so powerful and stars will go away so quickly I doubt you'll care about stars .

Now I'm interested to go play it and rob some stores dude . Totally didn't know about that.

I thought the achievement was for robbing stores, it's actually for mugging 50 people

You may not have an achievement for robbing stores, but if you do it enough you unlock the ability to get booze and food for free.

Oh, and the easiest way to do it is to choose a store with a back entrance, and park your car right there by it.
