Damn... Got beat by the front page! D:

From the ashes of THQ, Volition is back with its new masters Deep Silver, with the announcement of Saints Row IV. This time, the Saints set their sights on the entire United States, with players getting to become the President.

Oh, and aliens have invaded, and transported the Saints to a weird Steelport simulation. Because Saints Row really needed to be more ridiculous!

"Saints Row IV lets players delve into an arsenal of alien weaponry and technology that will turn each Saint into an ultimate entity of destruction. Utilize out-of-this-world superpowers to fight all the way to the top. With intensified action and enhanced customization, players can use their newfound superpowers and leap over buildings, outrun the fastest sports cars, or send enemies flying with telekinesis in the greatest, most insane installment of Saints Row yet."

It'll be on store shelves August 23.

I think i am okay with this... I mean I liked the craziness of 3 but I also liked the at least a little more realistism (to the extent it could be...) of the story of 2.

Jesus, talk about jumping the shark with an ICBM. I loved SR3, but that's because I was able to find a way to play it (mostly) straight-faced. Hopefully SR4 will be similar, but that video isn't promising.

Oh well, at least it'll be well-designed silliness.

Well the trailer made me laugh, so that's a good sign. My biggest problem with Saints Row 3 (other than the baffling omission of the replay chapter feature) was the fact that they decided to go all silly, but tried to stay anchored (somewhat) in realism. I say if you're going silly, go all the way. Saints Row 2 went a lot more serious, and it stuck to it. Saints Row 3 felt like a weird middle ground where they hadn't decided what they wanted exactly. I'll definitely keep my eye on this.
