I'd like better balance. Some missions where really easy and others that came right before or right after where really hard by comparison. This applies for activities as well.

Please let me customize my gang more. They look like douchebags with their purple cars with golden rims. Why does every gang in Stilwater have stuff that looks better then that of the saints? Even Ultor which isn't even a "gang" has the Police cars with different decals, which still look better then the overly tacky clothes and Cars my People have to run around with.

The main Character is a psychotic killer. I like the customization so i can make him look the part. This may very well be the first game on the Planet which gets the uncanny valley effect work in its favor without trying to do that.
My PC looks like the incarnation of boredom. Nicely groomed beard, black suit and a bowler hat. But there's something "off" about him.

For every other character, who is mostly the good guy or in some cases openly evil like Mass Effects renegade shepard, this uncanny valley effect doesn't work.

For the PC in Saints Row 2 (haven't played the first one yet) this is good. His looks would creep me out if he where sitting next to me.

I'm excited, Saint's row 2 is one of my favorite games because of the insanity of it. its not serious and it focuses on fun over everything. games are missing that with their war/gang violent drama stories about generic people most of the time no one cares about and tries to feel real but isn't even close cause its a blatant copy of a game that did it right. WE NEED MORE GAMES THAT ARE JUST FUN. Saints Row: the Third will hopefully inspire that feeling.
um.....Duke Nukem?

I hope they make it accessible to newcomers to the series. I've never played Saint's Row 2, so I'm interested in this if it can live up to the standards of it's predecessors.

I just hope my character won't turn out to be an insane, psychopathic jackass. Some of the story missions you have to do in the SR2 were just unnerving (The Brotherhood anyone?).
Well considering what happened to Carlos, the fuckers deserved it.

I'd like a little more customization a few more clothes, hairstyles, tattoos, guns would go a far way for me. I'd also like a little more customization of the actual gang, I liked what they added in saints row 2 where you could choose what cars they drive and what they wear but a few more options for both would be good.

Both sides were dicks in that. But the Saints started it: "Hey Saint's leader, we're getting this shipment of, I dunno, jewels and stuff. Anyway, rather than keeping it for ourselves like the other gangs would, we'd like to offer you 20%" "Screw you asshat, for not giving us the lot, I'm going to burn your face off with radioactive waste" (and that all happened before Carlos was killed).

They offered 5%.

Five. Percent. And then Marrow basically said to the Boss's face that he thought the Saints were an insignificant piece of crap that he could mow over in seconds. In front of Carlos nonetheless. I would've taken action too, after being humiliated as such.

Not that the Boss isn't psychotic and took it too far, but still. It's easy to see why a psychopath would flip like that.

I was thinking I could have sworn it was 20%, so I checked. Skip to 4:55.

Like you said, Maero then tells them they're insignificant pieces of crap. But they're both dicks.

True, but the issue with Carlos doesn't happen until at least halfway into the storyline. I mean... c'mon, holding Donnie at gunpoint just to get info? I'm sure there are nicer and more effective ways to get info out of him. I can't think of any, but it's something to think about.

Or something. :p

Addendum: And don't me started on the extra mission with Julius...

I hope, if this is the last in this arc...that you die in the end. I get it, its a game that goes out there and beyond, but I honestly really hate my character and want them to die.
From what I've seen in SR2, particularly the Revelations mission, that might well happen.
The Boss (protagonist's official name, apparently, like "Courier" in fallout NV) is a monster, revenge and destruction are all that motivate him/her, it seems. I can't recall a deranged, vengeful lunatic that wasn't destroyed by their reckless hatred, if you'll forgive the jedi-speak. Unless he/she has some kind of epiphany and stops existing for the sake of murder, discord, and the idea the he/she will always own Stillwater, (conquering it twice or not) I picture something like Scarface's finale in the Boss's future.

Then again, this is if Volition is seriously looking at the character's behavior and thinking "Hey, maybe there's a lesson in here somewhere, should we do something with it?" I only recall 3 "serious" moments in SR2, all of them involve a saint or former saint dying, but none are really dwelled on. Odds are good any aspect of learning from being a beast will not be present and SR3 will end with the Boss standing atop a pile of mutilated corpses, maybe wearing a party hat.
